If I wasn't playing as good as I thought I should, and people ask me the same thing over and over again when the answers are pretty obvious to answer, I'd get a little impatient and cranky as well.

As Cookie Monster says, "Learn something new every day!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutefisk Since I can't cook for a lick, nope. The person below me has wrapped themselves up in toilet paper to look like a mummy before to scare people.

Michael Jackson and Bubbles I dunno..........

I say we let the goalies use handguns. Osgood and Conklin with 9mm's? That would scare the crap out of the other team and solve our current goaltending problems! *shrugs*

I would've shaken his hands with one of those prank shocker things, but that's the dorky prankster in me, so that wouldn't be wise. It would've also resulted in me getting an butt-whipping. Joking aside, I've had very little encounters with celebrities or athletes I at least know from my favorite teams, and I cannot recall any since I turned adult age, but I'd like to think I wouldn't freeze up or anything like that. I'd be awe-strucken at first I think, but would probably quickly get over it I'm usually pretty serene and controlled in my appearance and stuff. In these types of situations I'd just tell them hello, a quick line or two how I admire the way they play or something like that, shake hands and let them go about their business. They probably expect some attention and some crazy people as well, but I bet they just want to be treated like the average Joe on the street. Icebreakers/greetings don't really cross the line doing that. Bearhugs or tackles, that's another story and not the wisest of ideas I think.

After a recent dog sitting over the weekend, I like cats more. Dogs while cute are hyperactive and attention whores and are too high maintenance. If I want to clean up after somebody/something that high-maintenance, I want it to be my son or daughter, when/if that ever happens. Cats, not so much high maintenance, but I don't know dittly about animals. The person below me thinks this short clip is absolutely funny, confusing, and defying of logic of how car mechanics work all at the same time.

and Bad jokes/kidding aside, while I did like Buffalo's black/red/white look from the late 90s/early 2000s, if they want to keep the blue and yellow look I'd go back to what they did before they go to black/red/white. That's pretty much it in terms of logos. In terms of jerseys, I'd dismantle Atlanta's powder blue jerseys with the number just on one side and go back to their navy blue jerseys with the red/crimson side colors. Truth be told I kinda like their current 3rd jersey. I'd also get rid of the skinny stripes running down the jerseys of Florida, St Louis, Nashville, and Colorado and such. It just looks a bit tacky especially when you have a C or A over one of the stripes. I'm more to prefer solid colors or just one or a few colors.

This kinda reminds me of George Carlin's 7 dirty words, specifically the word f**k in regards to people arguing/complaining about complaining. I remember one of his skits by heart with this word... "F you! F you! F you you F! F you you F! Who the F do you think you are, some kind of a F'head?! F you! Don't F with me or you'll get F'ed you F! Don't F with me or you'll get F'ed you F! You F over me and I'll F over you! I'm the F'er! Don't F with the F'er! God! It sounds like combat man!"' Anyways, in all seriousness now and more relevant to the thread. While I definitely can't speak for a majority of the members on here, I definitely know I am not 100% alone in sharing some of the same frustrations that the original poster vented out, to a lesser degree somewhat for me at least. And I give the original poster a lot of credit for creating a thread like this and expressing his frustration that some other people probably share but probably were never going to create a thread on. That takes guts. What I'm going to say here probably will change little around here, yes this is a place for a discussion and debate yadda yadda yadda, but it gets to be too much in here sometimes, in terms of what the original poster vented, too many ridiculous posts at times in terms of dismantling a team, whining like a little baby about goalies or enforcers, whipping boys when they are playing well, etc. Some people just take it off the deep end. It is frustrating and difficult to read these things sometimes. Conversely, I find almost equally annoying the condescending never-be-critical crowed when posts don't even come close to suggesting freaking out or panicing. I hate both extremes. I also hate the know-it-all crowd, but that's a discussion for another place/time, if ever. Some say complaining or panicing and overreacting is fun in here. I don't see much fun in that. Panicing and excessively complaining eventually leads to heartburn and makes you die younger (and the mood in the thread just goes way down south now ). Both sides of the extreme, the nutjob whiners and spoiled brats in whatever topic it may be as well as the 500% positivity police who grill you for being slightly critical need to tone it down a few notches sometimes. I hope that some people know who they are regarding these extremes and that they fit into them very well. I dunno, this is just the opinion of one doofus though, and I'm a pretty big doofus.

Melrose Hopes Tampa Doesn’t Win Another Game This Year
SouthernWingsFan replied to Wings_Fan_In_Exile's topic in General
I don't really blame him. Whether he was ultimately to blame for being fired just 16 games in or Tampa Bay mgmt. were just incompetent giving him the shaft to early is entirely subjective and is an endless debate, but if I were in his shoes I'd feel a little bit sour as well getting the axe way early in the game, even if my coaching methods weren't quite working well yet. -
Is this the team you want to see go into the playoffs?
SouthernWingsFan replied to shoe's topic in General
Nicely stated by all three of you. Unless for whatever reason the team's record just really falls in the crapper, very little/nothing needs tweaking in terms of roster moves or huge gigantic trades at the trading deadline when people either act in panic mode or want to do something just for the sake of doing it. Improved play, despite the very solid record, over roster changes is what needs to be the focus -
I am really looking forward to my school's matchup against undefeated Boise State in the Poinsettia Bowl on Dec. 23rd. Probably the best non-BCS bowl out there, and both these schools are BCS worthy this year I think if it weren't so crowded, with Boise State being undefeated and TCU even though they've lost twice, those two losses coming to top-10 teams (Oklahoma and Utah). The other part of me thinks though that if my school just totally didn't give their game away to Utah, they'd be in the Sugar Bowl in my hometown and I'd be going to that game live and acting like a giddy little schoolgirl. We just giftwrapped Utah that game. This makes me sour. Ah well, can't have everything in life and being ranked in the top-15 right now is nothing to complain about.

Which player in the NHL would wanna play for detroit the most?
SouthernWingsFan replied to a topic in General
I know a few people that would want to coach for Detroit... Barry Melrose Marc Crawford Joel Quenville -
Yep. Waking up early in the morning when I so desperately want to sleep in for just one day again. You could change that to 24 minutes, and doing something stupid will still hold true to me. Hell, 24 seconds and it'd still be accurate. The person below me sometimes wants to go where no man/woman has gone before, but will probably just stay where they live.
-
Ya think? It is general nature to like the underdog or player that doesn't play as much a bit more, doesn't matter what the sport or the team is. Hence all the Quincey love, which I can understand. I can guarantee you though that if he would have cracked the lineup, eventually there would be people whining and moaning about his play or lack thereof like they do to plenty of other people, since people here are pretty good at doing that.
-
Nope, I'd just take all the candy myself if that happened. The person below me has gotten into a fight with their Christmas tree this year trying to set it up.

Can I have YOUR autograph as well now?

Demon Goalie is our solution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutant_League_Hockey And in all seriousness, I will never understand right now why people want to bring up Howard. I have nothing against the guy personally, and yes goaltending for the Wings is struggling some, but why are there suggestions of bringing him up when, at least from what I have been reading in here, he can't even outplay the other goalie on the AHL Griffins team? That's just not a smart thing to suggest. And for the record I hate threads like these.

Support Chris Osgood (and the Detroit Red Wings)
SouthernWingsFan replied to interminded's topic in General
And it is just as funny to see people on the way other extreme spew their stuff out as well. While Osgood is certainly struggling, you are suggesting replacing Osgood with a minor leaguer, who at least from what I have read in here, can't even outplay the other goalie in the minors? That's just not smart thinking. -
I did, but wasn't surprised or upset that it was since it was pretty obvious it went in wide during replays. The person below me has smacked somebody else Three Stooges style before or has been involved in a Three Stooges skit of some kind.

Moving your body around that fast and often will kinda make you sweaty and smell bad.

I can just picture what Datsyuk's thinking..."This guy easily perspires and is shaking in his boots. Why?" Just messin with ya.

Not really. I'm always busy and pre-occupied with something that waiting isn't really a big deal to me. The person below me can say breakfast biscuit really fast 10 times.
