I got no problems with people dislikinge of Crosby or other players, that's fine, what I have a problem with his the continuous posts that he whines, because they are usually idiotic, baseless, and without logic.

I highly doubt that anybody has a problem with hitting or the physical aspect of the game. I certainly don't as long as they aren't a cheapshot or just running people from behind or that kinda thing. Nobody is going to grill your lunch for that. Because it is Crosby though is where it gets annoying. Not because Crosby needs to be treated with special protective rubber gloves, not because it is a sin if he gets hit, it is because it seems now that people find almost every excuse available to say that he complains or he whines or whatever else, and it is pretty damn tiring to be honest to read about the "Crosby Complaining Thread of the Week" when plenty of players do their fair share of complaining as well. Soon I bet there will be somebody in here commenting on how Crosby complained that he got a hangnail or that he only got 4 hours of sleep. It's just too much, and the disdain towards Crosby is just too much at times and gets beyond ridiculous in here. People complain that the media overhypes him and talks about him way too much? Well fans and people in here are doing just the same, usually of the direct opposite of general media. And personally it is much easier and enjoyable to read positive pub vs. negative pub, especially from fans that take it over the top and can only roll with, HE WHINES! Crosby got hit. That's nice. Crosby complained about a call. Big deal. I'm ready to move onto the next thing in my life. There doesn't need to be a 25 page article or thread about it.

While I only wear apparel of my favorite teams, I would consider wearing jerseys of other teams if I had to or forced to, and I've been a Wings fan since I started watching hockey when I was a teenager. I'm in my late 20s now. By default I'm not a kid anymore. I remember Lemieux, Roy, Forseberg, and Sakic. So I guess I'm not a true fan then? Sorry, I'm not really one of these "You are or aren't a real fan" based on a list of criteria kinda people.

Don't be silly. Sometimes, you just miss the net shooting. It happens to everybody whether there is a goalie in there or not. And when you have somebody right on your rear end trying to prevent you from scoring, it's going to bother your aim and concentration some.

Because it is Sean Avery who did this. Chris Pronger, as much as we hate him, knows when to keep his mouth shut and not act like a drama queen or an attention *****. Chris Pronger knows not to intentionally piss people off by making controversial comments to the press. Sean Avery doesn't, and has done this many times when he easily could have kept quiet, which is a major reason why he is getting suspended. Sean Avery talks too much for his own good and is too controversial for his own good. Maybe not talk too much, but talks too much like an idiot for his own good.

I'd wear a few...Roy, Lemeiux, Laperierre, Foote, just to see people's reactions in here. In all seriousness, I get the fan aspect of rivalries and hating other teams but I'm just not into that kinda thing since I've witnessed and read of plenty of instances where people get extremely carried away with it and take it too seriously being extremely disrespectful to fans of other teams (i.e. much worse than fun trash talk and stuff), both in person with "rivalries" and sports where I'm from, I've seen it plenty on here, and on a few other sports forums I have grazed of and on in the past. It wouldn't bother me whatsoever to wear one if I had to. If I'm one of those people that loses a bet to where I have to wear the jersey of the opposite team to work the next day, I don't care, it's just a sports jersey, there's plenty worse in life. If I'm wearing my team's apparel in "enemy territory" and people go off the deep end ridiculing me, let them keep embarassing themselves, I pay them no attention if it's me they are targeting. If this doesn't make me a "real" Red Wings fan, sorry. I just don't get too invested into rivalries.

Good for him to get back to employment so soon, and it takes guts to go back to a sports national broadcasting job after his coaching experiment blew up in his face. I'll be interested to ee or hear anything about if other analysts or co-workers will think anything less of him because of the bad coaching job, even though we'll probably never hear any potentially stuff like that live and on air.

I don't know if this has been brought up with the whole Avery drama, I've been so busy I've barely kept up with the whole act and haven't read this thread in depth, but in terms of this whole incident whether it sheds a bad light for the NHL, or how bad it does with public perception, for me personally I don't care about any of that. I don't care if the NHL got it "right" or "wrong" with the handling of this or the respect factor towards the league of public perception or my own personal perception of it. I like watching hockey, I like watching the NHL, neither is going away anytime soon, and I'm not going to stop watching it anytime soon. This hoopla doesn't change that one bit.

The only thing of me coming close to getting autographs or stuff like that from players is possibly this weekend when I go to a minor league hockey game about 2 hours from where I live, but I have no clue who any of the players are, and I'm not much of a collectibles guy anymore.

Cleary has missed a few games as noted, so regarding this he should be given some leeway. Catch 22 here, yes it is a bit disturbing to see their offensive numbers down when Cleary is a very capable offensive playmaker to a decent degree and Flipper surprised with nearly 20 goals last season, but also keep in they sometimes play more defensive roles. Flipper hasn't been getting power play time like you stated, and once Holmstrom gets back, Cleary might not be on the power play much either. That all being said, I am glad both of them are Wings.

I'll stress as I did in my other post or two regard this that if this was a first-time offender, almost anybody other than Avery, not much would be made of this probably. I'm not going to get all hell bent out of shape that he got so many games compared to Chris Pronger getting so little or Chris Simon getting so much. Things like this are always going to be hypocritical and political and if you think about these things too much, you are just going to give yourself heartburn. I like funny, I like entertainment to a certain degree, but you sometimes got to know when to shut up and when you are either going to be embarassing yourself or be a detriment. Avery has no clue how to do this most of the time. Is it silly that he get suspended for this type of material? Perhaps, but it is Sean Avery. This isn't the first time he has acted like an idiot, hence the suspension. He deserved every bit of this because of his idiotic personality at times and because his personality is a ticking timebomb. Hopefully he'll learn a lesson for the better through all of this.
