I hope nobodoy there dropped the soap!

I have been fortunate to do this. True story, I was actually in Paris the night when France won the World Cup as hosts in 1998. It was quite well...very interesting and happy that evening and the next day in the area. The person below me is afraid of the dark.

The Pitt game wasn't the worst regular season game. Not even close. In recent memory, a few come to mind...2 years ago @ San Jose when Hasek got shelled, last year hosting Columbus when the Wings were playing like ooptar in February and got shut out I think. I've watched so many hockey games since I started watching them seriously in the mid-90s that nothing really surprises me anymore in terms of having a game here and there where you just blow a lead, or have a game where you are just terrible, or a game every now and then where you just flatten your opponent.

When is the bashing of players going to end?
SouthernWingsFan replied to Red Crazy's topic in General
This was confusing, but funny. I'm not going to spare this post. I'm all for criticism but it really isn't all that difficult to control yourself emotionally in terms of preventing yourself from pushing the panic button or jumping off the cliff predicting doom and gloom. Posts like that are unnecessary, and posting and emotion rarely mix well, if ever. -
Die hard fans of every team, I don't care what team you root for, will reach deep into the cookie jar to figure out reasons how their team isn't getting respect, they are biased against my team, they are sucking up to the other team, etc. etc. I will guarantee you that Pitt fans were probably thinking that VS annoucers were giving the Wings too much credit and stuff. And it'll happen in the next national broadcast on VS or NBC, and the one after that, and so on, and so forth, regardless of the teams playing. Which is a major reason why I don't put much emphasis on what broadcasters say and just watch the game.

If we win it all in a boring fashion, I'll take boring every time.

Meh, the season is over 80 games, they got over 60 to go? Plenty of time to fix defensive hiccups and get these players in line mentally before the playoffs start.

Never. Unfortunately. -
Well, when you state in the thread that this is an "unofficial panic attack" thread and bash other defensemen as well, how do you expect some people are going to react to you?
-
I doubt it. Next time the Wings come on Versus you'll be right in front of the TV like everybody else on here.
-
No. They have roughly 70 games before the playoffs to figure things out defensively. I don't care how good or bad of a team you have, everybody is going to have a crappy game defensively every now and then, whether you are the Cup champs or finished dead last in the league. That's hockey.
-
where, oh where has our defense gone?
SouthernWingsFan replied to datsyukismyfriend's topic in General
I think our defense has gone to Chinatown, but then again I'm a crappy guesser and am not all that funny when trying to be sarcastic. *shrugs* -
Not regretting re-signing him at all. In an 80+ game season, you are going to have a few defensive clunkers of a game, I don't care how good or bad your team is. That's hockey. They have nearly 70 games to fix their defense before the playoffs start.

It's not even an issue to me. Hockeytown is just a name, no more or less. It is silly debating what is the greatest hockey city/town or whatever, because there is no one right answer and no one proper set of criteria to judge on. Is Detroit a great hockey city? Without question. Minneapolis? You bet. Montreal? Of course. We could go on and on. It may be boring, but comparing cities in this matter doesn't solve anything and doesn't answer the question. They are all great hockey cities, and I prefer to leave it at that.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/8760516...-hockey-history Neat little dealie on The Professor. Happy reading!

Nope. The person below me understands the joke that these guys are saying at the beginning of this clip. The person below me is also going to be working out early this morning.

Dan Cleary is an elephant in the locker room.

Think laundry. Nope, and if I ever was, I would kick that person's a**, or get my a** kicked trying to kick that person's a** since I can't fight for poop. *shrugs* The person below me would actually give the Rabbit some Trix, unlike those mean kids that he encounters all the time.

Indeed. The person below me has burned themselves with an iron before.

Meh, hockey helmets outside of decorating the goalie masks aren't supposed to look "pretty" anyways. Doesn't bug me one way or another.

Mo Cheese is the man, I love the silliness. Don't understand why some in here have a big disliking for him, it's not like he's hurting anybody with what he does. Oh well...

Sean Avery is a nice guy. SouthernWingsFan is never sarcastic.

Yep, close to 40 pounds a few years ago. The person below me has one of those neon beer light signs.

Drinking O'Doul's Amber beer right now. Not too shabby at all, but it doesn't come close to local Abita Amber flavor down here.
