Cleary is one of the hardest working Wings on the team, and is capable of switching from a more defensive-forward role to one where he has to focus on offense in a heartbeat. Not a lot of guys on the Wings, other than the superstars, have the capability to do that. He basically has said if he doesn't bust his rear end off, his game suffers greatly. I fail to see how he is being "selfish", and before you respond back to me with something like, "Have you been watching the games?!", yes I have.

I want the Wings to average 25 goals a game and give up 0 a game. Knowing that that will never happen in anybody's lifetime, there's no logical reasoning to bicker about the amount of goals they are racking up. Goals against is another story, but they've been improving on that lately.

3rded (if that's even a word) on suggesting buying from www.sportsk.com. I'm not buying another jersey anytime soon and only bought once from there, CCM Holmstrom jersey, but I was very content with service and price, totaled about $125 roughly.

I've been to JLA a couple of times, and the few times I went everywhere I sat was good, nothing obstructed. That's a benefit you typically get when the arena is a simple bowl shape without a lot of decks/sections. I went to college in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and saw few Stars games during the time when they used to play in Reunion Arena before going to AA. Reunion Arena was as simple as a design as well. Just a bowl with one lower and one upper section, not a bad seat in the house.

Why does that matter? Minneapolis-St. Paul area, while I've never been there, I assume is one of the better hockey cities out there, and there's probably not much arguing that Minnesota is one of the best hockey states out there. All true, Detroit is just a solid sports city period. There's no debating that. It's just one of those cities where professional hockey still has a decent impact, even though football might take precedence, at least right now, no matter how bad the Lions might be. To me again, it just comes down to the name of Hockeytown being a slogan. That's it. You can make a case that Detroit is one of the best U.S. hockey cities out there, and you can easily make a case that other cities like Minneapolis is the best American hockey city out there.

Kris Draper was so unwanted by Winnipeg that Detroit got him for $1, so you never know.

The Red Wings should trade again for Todd Bertuzzi. The Red Wings will definitely be sporting a 3rd jersey this season (more than once not on January 1st ). Red Wing cheerleaders will be present by the end of this season. Boyd Deveraux and Jason Williams will be returning. We still stink!

I just skimmed it, but given the length I have little doubt that there is probably some pro-bias towards Detroit, understandably so, but ripe with good details and facts without bias I am assuming. I just try to keep with the thought that Detroit is definitely one of the best hockey cities out there, but "Hockeytown" is just a slogan, nothing more or less when people or fans of other teams try to question whether Detroit is "Hockeytown" or the best hockey city or one of the better cities for hockey. I'm not trying to make that sound like a slight towards Detroit or the Red Wings or "Hockeytown". Again though, the title to me is just a marketing slogan, nothing wrong with that.

Key to Holmstrom's season: keep his rear end out of the crease. All the added moisture crowds the crease up with contributes to disallowed goals.

No need to apologize. I rarely ever get into rivalry stuff or hating teams or fans of other teams just because they like the other team or school. Just something I usually don't like to get involved in. If Utah beats my school, I'll be rooting for them to crash the BCS again. Not that I have anything against Boise State, I don't, I'd just like to see my conference crack it, especially this year when the Mountain West Conference has been really, really good all things considering. I usually keep things on an even keel emotionally when watching sports and don't get too high/low, but this is as excited as I've been in a long while for a football game, I'm starting to act like a giddy schoolgirl (). I've been reading rumblings that if my school wins this game and their last one, there's a good chance they might get in the Sugar Bowl where I am from. I'm giddy, but I am quite confident as well going against Utah. This is as good of defense as I've seen my school play since I went to school there/graduated, and we've usually had some very solid defenses. Speed, they are just extremely fast. Other than our lone loss, in all of their games they have given up no more than 14 points, and the 14 points only happened twice. And in one of the games one of the two touchdowns was off a blocked punt, so technically our defense has only given up more than one touchdown in just one of their wins. I think it'll come down to our offense. It's nowhere close to an explosive-type offense like Texas Tech, but they've been really good at mixing play calls up w/ run and pass and keeping defenses off balance lately and holding onto the ball for long stretches. If that offense shows up and not the inconsistent/slow offense like I am sometimes accustomed to, I like their chances. Although I won't be surprised if they lose as Utah is obviously legit this year, a big game on their home turf, TV, sold out crowd I am assuming, etc. I want us to crack the BCS obviously, but even if we don't, a 9/10 win season is something to still be proud of.
