I also blame Ali Baba to a certain degree. *shrugs*

I don't get much in the business of either "guaranteeing victories" or "OMG WINGS ARE DONE CRAAAAAAAAAP!" before GAMES HAVE EVEN BEEN PLAYED, but as I just stated more/less, the series isn't even over yet. It is stupid to say the Wings are done or completely f**ked beyond repair when the series isn't over yet and they have 2 chances to win still. Just as it is a bit silly to say the Penguins are completely done, but personally I prefer to be happy/optimistic vs. being miserable/negative/saying pre-mature stuff like WE'RE DONE before we are actually done.
-
We don't even know if the Wings will lose the series or not especially since game 6 hasn't even been played yet. Don't be such a Negative Nancy.

You fight the power brother! In all seriousness though, I'm with you 150%.
-
Shhhhhhhhh, they might hear you! Soon there will be "We need a new Captain thread"! Oh wait, that already happened.

No, he didn't play like s**t.

Sorry, but he stole the game, and the annoucers were well within their right to get hyped up with some of the saves he was making b/c they were pretty damned good saves. Wings had plenty of realistic chances both in regular time and overtime that Fleury ripped saves out of his rear.

Me? Absolutely not.

Logic is a scary thing to have in this day and age Duck Guy. I commend you for using it wisely.

Still can't ultimately blame the referees. The "goalie interference" penalties are retarded yes, but they gave the Wings their chance to win it all with a PP in double overtime. I didn't come on here right after the game b/c people were probably acting like they were going to jump off a building so I apologize if this has come up already, but you cannot blame them either for making that high sticking call that drew blood. In sudden death OT you let the players play unless something is just absolutely blatent and obvious to call. Unfortuately high sticking, whether accidental or not, is usually easy to identify assuming the referee sees the play. And before anybody jumps all over my case for sticking up for the refs, remember last year game 6 1st round against Calgary. We had a 4:00 PP for the exact same call and while we ultimately won that game, we didn't score on that PP. Again I hate the ridiculous goalie interference interpretations but the refs did not lose this game for the Wings.

I'm just going to go with the default answer...I blame the terrorists.

GET READY FOR THE MOTHER OF ALL GAME 7's
SouthernWingsFan replied to Andy Pred 48's topic in General
How do we know there is going to be a game 7 when game 6 hasn't even been played yet? Talk about some Negative Nancies. -

Let's all thank Sidney for the ratings boost

No, it isn't a conspiracy. The three of those mentioned last are lesser known. The order that they were mentioned in really shouldn't and doesn't matter. -
Hey dude! I got a big box of porn for ya!

How about we leave it be that a COMBINATION of Crosby/the Penguins AND the Red Wings have helped boost ratings and just that? I know, I'm no fun. -
QUOTED FOR TRUTH. And this guy sounds like from how he wrote that blurb, that he doesn't watch much basketball. Whether or not you believe referees do such things as make up calls or intentionally swallow their whistles/let the guys play, you be the judge. I will say this though from personal officiating experience. It was just college rec league stuff in basketball and soccer, but the people playing more often than not were competent/athletic enough and new what they were doing, and the game tempo was still pretty fast. It's still hard to officiate a consistent game even on that lower level. You're going to miss calls and make bad calls, it's not going to be perfect. I made my fair share of bad ones. Basically the point is, is that it is difficult for the referees and that both teams in any game will probably get their fair share of bad calls/no-calls in a game.

Not likely. Unless Crosby and Pittsburgh somehow pull of three straight, I highly doubt it. As much as we moan and whine about Bettman and company, they aren't into conspiracy theories. And say what you want about Crosby whining, he's only 20. He needs time to mature a little bit. I already know people will be coming back at me with, "Well then the Penguins shouldn't have made him captain so early." That's totally up to you to judge. He'll become better with this post-game stuff in time.

I swear, if I hear the word obstruction one more time, I'm going to eliminate the word from the dictionary. The Red Wings are nowhere close to doing any blatant or extreme you-know-what. If you want to take a look at a good example of you-know-what, try the 2002 Carolina Hurricane team which used the trap to death, or the Stanley Cup Finals the following year between New Jersey and Anaheim. Pre-lockout obstructing my ass. This is nothing close to it and Penguins fans need to put a sock in it regarding this.

As a die hard fan of a sports team, doesn't matter if it's the Red Wings or any other team, wanting a series to go to 7 games when you want your team to win it all is a pretty ridiculous wish to fathom.
-
I find the conspiracy theory thoughts here as well as the Penguins fans moaning about "obstruction" and the fans of both teams going back and forth yapping at each other pretty lame as well. I know there is a fan aspect of the game and I'm all for friendly trash talk and ribbing on each other and things like that, but some of the yapping back and forth between the teams' fans has gotten pretty absurd at times. Part of me wants this series to end Monday/ASAP just to put an end to all of these shenanigans (that's a word I haven't said/typed in a long while ) from the fans of both teams.
-
Sorry, but conspriacy theories are a waste of time. As much as we piss and moan about the NHL/Bettman, they don't do conspiracy theories.

So what did Sidney Crosby really say to Zetterberg?
