Crosby is the face of the league. They are going to pimp him as much as they can. I don't get why this is so difficult for people to either understand or accept. You pimp your most marketable players/well-known faces to grow the game. And I can bet that most of you want hockey to be more popular overall in this country or for people in general to at least understand it. What's a way to do that? You pimp your most marketable players. You can't have it both ways to where you want people to stop talking about Sidney Crosby AND the game gets more popular overall. Doesn't work that way. Sidney Crosby has that tag right now. Get used to it, it's not that torturous.

Relax. He had 1 bad game out of a whole bunch that were solid. And unless he gets injured or just totally falls off the face of the planet, there's not a snowball's chance in hell that Lilja, Chelios, or Lebda gets more playing time over him.

Hall Gill got called for 2 cross-checking penalties on Holmstrom.

Same with Jason Williams in 2002 as well. I don't remember exactly how many regular season games he played that season, but it was under 1/2 the season I think, but he filled in the playoffs for 9 games I think in the beginning of the playoff season as well as when Igor Larionov was injured, but didn't play in the SCF against Carolina at all. Nevertheless. he did a pretty solid job overall in the playoffs and the players pushed for his name on the Cup even though he didn't fulfill all the beginning requirements.

I just want to know where the heck this obstruction is. Now I don't play hockey so maybe somebody else can define it accurately for me, but it's not like the Penguins haven't had any chances even though they've been outshot by a decent margin. I'm pretty confused over it all.

I'm sorry if this is going to sound harsh, but Therien needs to get over it. If I were him I'd be embarassed at what I am continually saying I'm not saying it's completely wrong or he has no right to talk about the officiating when it is good/bad, but how about taking accountibility for YOURSELF and YOUR TEAM? Both teams in a game are going to get good/bad calls against them at various stages of a game, but putting all/a large part of the blame on the referees when your team gets shutout two games in a row is absolutely ridiculous. And I'm not talking 1-0 shoutouts after 2 overtimes when shots/chances are pretty dead even. Your team has been outshout and outclassed offensively and defensively so far these first two games. Now the series is far from over and I don't want to sound arrogant like the Wings have already won it all, but Therien needs to take some personal accountibility to try to make his team better these next few games I think.

Some of you spend (not you specifially DallasStars) WAY TOO MUCH time worrying about what others think about the Wings. And that's not good.

A nice funk mix that I stumbled upon when trying to look for one of my favorite songs. It's about 9:00 long but really gets jumping around 3 1/2 minute park, and a portion of my favorite song comes in at about 5:15, it really gets you going. The song list is... Always worried in the back of my mind even though I rarely show much emotion watching games and usually stay calm/quiet on the surface. While I'm definitely confident/happy how the first two games went, this series is far from done and we've seen the Red Wings fumble 2-0 series leads before or lose 4 straight playoff games. Entirely different situations when they happened in 1999 and 2001 and 2003, but the potential for it to possibly happen again is still there. Also remember Nashville 2004/this year and Calgary last year when they both rallied to tie the series 2-2. Sorry, I almost always go the cautious, middle-of-the-road approach. With all that said, I think if the Wings can continue to play solid defnese like they have the past 2 games and take 1 of these 2 in Pittsburgh, I really like their chances a lot, lot more.

Harsh but true. The series is far, far from over but say if the Wings win this series in 4 or 5 games and you see them continuing to say the same things, it will be a shame for them. Lack of leadership, more often than not just excuses besides starting with yourselves first for losing. Trying to get referees to side with you in post-game conferences and things like that certainly don't bother me, but if you take little/no personal account to get your team better, especially after they've been shut out twice (and this hasn't been 1-0 triple overtime shutout-type games), there's a problem with that I think.

Officiating is a 2-way street I think. We've definitely got hosed by phantom intereference calls that should've been goals, but calls have certainly gone our way as well (i.e. Holmstrom's PP goal in game 1 Dallas which could've easily been another interference, Zetterberg's 1st goal against Nashville after he could've been called for tripping). Point being in the grand scheme of things complaining about refereeing as a major reason you lost is a moot point more often than not and a bad excuse because both teams are going to have both good calls for them and bad calls against them in the course of a game. Like the players, the referees aren't perfect and are doing the best they can but will make some mistakes as well.

I don't want to watch the video again. I don't care that badly to argue just for the sake of arguing like you do. And you are making an assumption that Fluery not screwing up meaning it doesn't go in. Again, you are making an assumption, NOT A FACT.

Because even as much as we want it to be, life isn't all 100% about the Red Wings, there are other worthy candidates for such an award as well, Messier being a good choice.

I don't give a damn if the coach/player is whining or whatever else, after a hard fought best-of-7 series where you throw your body around and both teams bust their rear ends to try to win, you win and/or lose gracefully by shaking each other's hands. That's the least you can do when everybody works so hard in a series on both sides. Chelios should've shaken the hands of the Anaheim players last year when the Ducks eliminated the Wings, I don't care how much they might be hated in here. And Brodeur should've shaken Avery's hand in the first round, even though Avery can be an annoying pest more often than not. Do the right and honorable thing and shake hands with everybody else for a good/hard fought battle. With all that being said, specifially to the Therrien Presser, I give him this. :violin: As I've said a few times, I'm perfectly fine with players or coaches perhaps swaying officials their way or whatever else as calls go for/against both teams at various stages of the game. However, there's something wrong when you take/give little/no accountability for the actions of yourself and your team. They may have been working hard and the effort might have been there, but when your team gets shut out twice in a row, more often than not you are being outplayed. Fess up as well to your own mistakes and your team's mistakes.

Series is far from over. It takes 4 games to win a best-of-7, not 2. The Wings have certainly blown 2-0 leads before and/or lost 4 straight in the playoffs, as well as rally from an 0-2 deficit. I know those were entirely different situations/years (1999 COL, 2001 LA, 2003 Anaheim, 2002 Vancouver in reverse), but it certainly still can happen this time as well. And Dallas gave us a run for our money after we declared them well past their last lifeline going up 3-0. That being said, I'm very excited and encouraged how well this team played the first two games. If the Wings can still manage to play solid defense as they have the first two games, and take one of these next two games in Pittsburgh, I really like our team's chances even more. We need to take one of these games on the road.
