When ABC broadcasted games in the early 2000s, it worked out the same way more/less I think. ESPN broadcasted games 1 and 2 of the SCF, and ABC games 3-7.

Oh I know. He shouldn't change what's gotten him in the league for the long-term and what has made him successful, and I understand you want to protect your goalies etc., but you don't call phantom interference calls/disallowed goals like that in the Stanley Cup Finals when they are the most important games out there. Or, at the very least, judgement calls like that should be reviewable.

I like, and you could really go with a variety of realistic combos based on past success assuming Franzen is back for this game. Could easily flip Samuelsson for the 2nd line there since Flipper-Franzen-Samuelsson performed fairly well when they were together, but I've been very surprised with the more-than-usual productivity of Draper's current 3rd line. I'd like to see them together again, even though I think Cleary could be more suitable for a "shutdown" role over Samuelsson. I like the idea of moving Hudler back down with Helm. Not because Hudler has stunk up the joint by any stretch of the imagination, he gives that bottom line more of an offensive threat I think than just Maltby and Mac there, plus the two of them have worked well together this playoffs.

I'm probably going to be sorry for this when there's a 10-page essay on my response, but what about most goal reviews then? Sometimes referees don't initially rule goals sometimes when pucks actually cross the goal line. Sometimes those are reviewable.

Sure, but to call him a moron is pretty far out there when he's a pretty well-established professional journalist. Seems to me when you are a journalist, you're not that much of a moron.

When broadcasting a game for 3 hours or giving post-game analysis for 30 minutes to an hour, you can only talk about so much. It is almost impossible not to say anything where your fan base claims "BIAS FOR THE OTHER TEAM" or "YOU HATE MY TEAM YOU FOOOOOOL!". And fans of the other team can make a similar claim for an analyst saying something in a different part of the game or analyzing to where he or she is actually favoring our team.

That's fine, I too think the Wings defense is better, but it is his opinion, and he is a knowledgable man about the sport. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be a sports journalist. Disagreeing with him over his picks is one thing. Saying he is an absolute moron because he picked against the Wings and is trying to give credit to the Penguins defense which is pretty good, is going a bit overboard in here.

Burnside has picked the Wings in the past. Just because somebody doesn't pick the Wings to win means that they lose all credibility.

Well, when I said that ESPN does cover hockey, you called it basketball. Basketball and hockey are two different sports. So they do cover hockey.

While Burnside I disagree with as well saying the Penguins defense is better, it's not like their defense is bad. And I like playing devil's advocate when it comes to the "ANALYST STOOPID WHEN YOU DON'T COMPLETELY PICK WINGS" opinion on here that many people display, as well as when people make it sound like the Wings either are (1) indestructible or (2) done after the 1st round or 1 loss. And saying that the Wings have already won another Cup when they still have to win 3 games and it's a best-of-7 series after just 1 game can be pretty ludicrous as well. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Knoweldge about hockey and playing the game itself aren't always directly related to each other. I don't play hockey but I think I have decent knowledge of the sport.
