NBA's I think, at least the ECF was scheduled in advances as one of the Wester Quarterfinal series went to 7 games that just ended Monday night. No lie on your last question, if the NHL asked the NBA to do what you asked at the end, higher ups from the NBA would laugh right back in their faces.

You play within the rules set by a league and play with the cards that have been dealt to you. The Penguins have capitalized on those chances that have been given to them over the past few years, more than being fair and well within the rules. And you throw away history when each game is played. The outcome is determined on the ice or playing surface, not in a sports forum or newspaper. A great home crowd definitely helps and is a factor, but you have to ultimately beat the other team on the playing surface to win.

Philadelphia beat Washington this year in a game 7 ON THE ROAD. It's definitely possible for a road team to win game 7.

Sad but true....sad but f**king true. It's not like the guy predicted a Penguins sweep or Penguins in 5. He's picked the Wings before. If people would just get past their OMG ESPN IS SO HORRIBLE bias, they'd actually see that picking somebody to win in 7 games probably yields that the teams are close to even on play, and it will be a TIGHT SERIES. Again, with as closely evenly matched as these teams are, you could easily bounce back and forth 50-50 on your selection to where picking either team is fairly realistic. Not everybody that picks or chooses against the Wings automatically makes them an idiot. It's pitiful to see such fan responses in here this playoff year towards people that might actually go against the Wings where their claims are fairly legit and realisitic.

Well, discuss away. I wish I could select multiple options, b/c I think it would be very disappointing if they bowed out early, but another part of me is just happy and proud to see them make it this far. Definitely do not be fully content that they are here, but 28 other teams almost never make it this far for plenty of seasons. It takes a lot of work to get this far, and while I know expectations of this team are sky high more often than not, again I think we should at least recognize and be happy they've made it this far, with hopefully 4 more wins to come.

Melrose picked the Wings tonight on the Sportscenter recap if it's any consolation. Seriously though, can't really blame Burnside. Pitt has a helluva team with a ridiculous amount of offensive, probably a little more capable than the Wings in terms of a balance standpoint if possible, and the two defenses are pretty even. Their only question is in goaltending I think, but that is far from an achilles heel. I highly doubt this series will end quickly and it'll probably be an offensive slugfest. The series could honestly go either way and the teams are almost dead even in terms of talent and capabilities I think.

Honestly, I think it is about as even as a matchup as you can get from my limited knowledge of the Penguins. They've seemed to eliminate the perception that they don't play defense and are all finesse. They definitely have plenty of skill like Detroit, and added a few big bodies recently like Laraque and Gill that certainly do their roles on the ice. Both teams are pretty stacked both offensively and defensively. The only uncertainty that I think exists, and I really may be reaching to deep for an uncertainty, is Pittsburgh in goal. Not that Fleury doesn't have it or has been terrible, not even close. You just wander how he's going to react in the Finals going against somebody who's already 'tended in them once.
