Hell I could also use the $11 to get 11 1-dollar bills and reward some women for doing the dirty job of stripping at the gentleman's club. Definitely not for my own personal enjoyment..........or something like that. *takes foot out of mouth*

While we have no control over the "prediction" threads for better or worse, I echo and 100% agree with the rest of your post. Spot on.

<---Has no 'Southern' Cajun or redneck-like accent (thankfully). I have no accent at all. for getting a refund on my state income tax. I don't care if it's just $11, that's good enough for Chicken Crispers at Chili's, or a large pizza at this local Italian restaurant that is quite delicious.

Burnside breaks down the WCF and picks the Wings in 7
SouthernWingsFan replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
Wow, 2 sports analysts picked the Wings to advance? I'm surprised the forum didn't implode seeing this rare occurance. -
Greetings greetings. If the Stars are able to take out the Wings, I'll be rooting for them in the Finals then. Absolutely love the Dallas-Fort Worth area, went to college there at TCU for 5 years. Wish I could drive up for a playoff game but money/funds does not allow for it to a certain degree, scheduling definitely does not allow for it to a full degree.

WHAT?! ANOTHER DIMWAT PICKED AGAINST THE WINGS OR IS DOUBTING THEM? CLEARLY THEY DO NOT KNOW THE WINGS ROOL AND DO NOT DROOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait somebody is picking for the Wings. Let me change my sarcastic tune a little bit. WOO HOO! SOMEBODY IS ACTUALLY PICKING FOR THE WINGS! HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT CAUSE HE PICKED THE WINGS! HE KNOWS THE WINGS ROOL! Wait, it's Barry Melrose who did it? Seriously, doesn't really matter to me one way or the other if analysts pick the Wings or not whether we think they are knowledgable or nimrods. They don't play the game on the ice or determine the outcome, and you or I could make a halfway educated guess and get some of these series just as right or wrong in terms of the winner.

Don't you think you're just being a tad overdramatic here? Anyways, I think this is cool news. Cherry, at the very least, will crank up the entertainment value of the shows then. Like him or not, he is passionate and gets people's attention. Plus he's a snappy dresser. I don't take anything that sports analysts or experts say that seriously anyway, it doesn't have any effects on the outcomes of games. Just extra stuff to listen to every now and then.

Ray Charles and Chaka Kahn - I'll Be Good To You

Welcome. It was all that Dan Marino's fault, everyone knows that. If he had held the ball, laces out, like he was supposed to, Ray would never have missed that kick. Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie, son? Laces out!

If you want to grasp at straws, fine. Point is nobody thought they were going to be able to play a trap game either against the Wings, and they did.
-
I wasn't really thinking that, but if you want that to be the default answer, then sure.
-
Careful what you wish for. Edmonton was supposed to play the same game as the Wings in 2006 and look what happened........

OMG SOMEBODY DIDN'T PICK THE WINGS TO WIN?!?!?!!?!? WHAT A BUNCH OF TERDBURGLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /end extreme sarcastic obnoxious overreaction Nothing new or anything to get worked up about, these chaps are certainly entitled to their opinion and people have definitely gone against the Wings before. Nothing to lose sleep or get pissy over.

As for people wandering why there's no NBC on this weekend's set of games, it was exactly like last year. NBC (I am assuming) has exlcusive broadcast rights of the PGA Tour event, TPC at Sawgrass. It's going to happen exactly like last time b/w Wings-Ducks WCF game 2 last year with the game on VS. As much as I think hockey is more exciting as golf, you got to think in the big picture and ratings. The TPC at Sawgrass is one of the biggest professional golf events of the year, NBC wants ratings, and more people in this country can understand/relate to golf over hockey. I'm sorry, but if that's not a 100% fact, it's a really strong opinion of mine. At least the game is on VS so we'll all get to see it in all likelihood, which is what is most important. So, I definitely understand why NBC will choose the PGA Tour event over hockey. Again, all about nationwide ratings and I'm not upset/offended that they aren't showing my favorite team or sport to watch. What's messed up though is switching from an unfinished game to a different event, like it happened last year with the Kentucky Derby or Preakness. I know those two events are big, big deals nationwide and you want the ratings again, but switching like that in the middle of a current sporting event is just unprofessional I think. But I don't blame NBC for this. I blame the NHL higher ups for getting in a deal such as this one for this day last year. NBC is definitely more available nationwide, but to prevent a clusterf**k like what happened last year, just leave the entire game/day for VS exclusive rights.

Aaaargh, no chance for me to take an 8-hour drive up to the Dallas area over the weekend. Ah well, probably better I don't anyway, flew up to Detroit for game 2 of the Avs round and it cost me a fair amount. I'm just glad all the start times, in all likelihood, shouldn't be anything past 8:00 my time, and still no back-to-back nights either. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for much better opponents in terms of location scheduling. Two central time zone teams, only one trip/two games out west for late starts, no back-to-backers.

Did Osgood pick on Drew Sharp in grade school?
SouthernWingsFan replied to Herr Hockey's topic in General
He clearly didn't pick on Ansar Kahn. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ects_red_w.html -
See my response below. Point 1: He has no control over who he plays, whether it is the Avalanche, the Predators, the District-5 Ducks, or whomever else. Point 2: Until you or other people who obsessively hate him show me otherwise, you are still missing the point as well that, no matter how much you and other people dislike the guy, HE IS CONTRIBUTING (IN A POSITIVE FASHION). I know it is a tough pill to swallow. I know we all have our people we like to hate, but some of you are beyond being ridiculous with the disliking towards the guy. He's been producing enough as a "secondary scorer" like we all want and doing it when it matters most in the postseason. Seriously, what more do some of you want Samuelsson to do while he's here? And you can't use the default answers of "I want Samuelsson off the team." or "I want him to shoot less."

Last 2 posts are just golden. Beautiful. BlakChamber, you're a mod, you have the power to do just what you explained and what you and I would both love to happen.

You want the headache I had yesterday afternoon/evening to make it even harder? On another note, I'm sick and tired of this bullcrap of a tree not making a sound when it doesn't fall just because you are there. That is hogwash! If something falls to the ground, IT MAKES A SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *sits and calms down* Lidstromrules16....Muppet Babies definitely did rock, was an awesome show. Baby Animal was flippin hilarious.
