Meh, would like to see other teams get their FIRST opportunity to play in an outdoor game before the league goes to double dip. Sweet jerseys for both teams regardless if those are the final product.

Meh, you take the good and the bad with ESPN. If you are going to pay detailed attention to a lot of broadcasting/copy, you'll probably be disappointed. If you tune in to just watch games, it's not so bad. I enjoy watching college football games, the college world series, and the occasional baseball game or Monday Night Football on there. If you are just going there for hockey coverage only, you will probably be disappointed.

You cannot be this dense. I refuse to believe it.

Other people can want Jagr to be on the team, nothing wrong with that.

Not at all. Because they are barely real and I don't like drama or being overemphatic. The person below me thinks this is funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4BO26nqPmM

I'd do a can-opener into the water for the biggest smack impact. ----------- The one thing I don't like seeing loosely in here is that this is another Mike Modano situation, chiefly becuase Modano suffered a freak injury that happens once in a blue moon. I don't think Jagr is the greatest thing since sliced bread, he alone isn't going to help win a Stanley Cup, but unless somebody has a crystal ball and can predict pretty much the exact same scenarios that Modano went through last season and the same happen to Jagr, I think it's at least worth continuing to explore. I won't lose sleep if he's not on the Wings, but would be very curious and a bit excited if he does sign with the Wings, at not too much of a cap hit.

Sad to see him go, I would've been comfortable with him being back-up full time. I think Osgood not sure if he will retire just yet probably played into this, though I don't blame Osgood for wanting to keep going as long as he can, and if he thinks he can go and docs or whomever think he can go, by all means do it. I'd be comfortable with him as back up if he can prove he's healthy again. Comfortable with getting a guy like Conklin back if that's the route they go, even though he struggled last year by the looks of numbers (only recalled maybe 1 or 2 games he played against the Wings this season, barely saw him at all this year).

Aaron Downey for U.S. President. :usaflag: Or Canadian Prime Minister. Or hell, why not both?

More towards the first, but not completely. Homo or Erectus

A good bit, if I'm not out eating with co-workers or have a work lunch, I almost always eat in. Cheaper, and surprisngly good frozen food selections with low calories. The person below me thinks this is funny.

I would've pleaded the 5th and say "I know or hear nothing." But this is coming from a guy that likes to not hear or know much and hates drama within 1000 yards of him. A friend of mine recently said, "Hey guess what?!" Then he immediately told me something else. I was like, "You gotta let me guess man, that was a question!"

Either/or. Not tired presently but I never sleep much to begin with (by choice, rarely due to stress/worry) so I value whatever sleep I do get. The person below me thinks this is funny.

Pretty much a copy/paste job from the other thread where Jagr is a focus... Modano suffered a freak injury that happens probably once in a blue moon. It's not that he was lighting the world on fire prior to the injury but I think he was starting to find his way on the team. Lengthy time off and having to get re-conditioned again, it was just a hard situation. Some might question Modano's attitude which I understand, maybe he shouldn't have gone public saying I might retire or not sure how much I have left, but I think a lot of it is just general frustration. I don't think he was being a drama queen or playing the woe is me card, not blaming anybody, it probably wasn't an issue in the locker room which messed up psyche, and so forth. He knew that his time was up sooner than later to begin with and this injury just confused things even more. Relating that to the perception or fact that Jagr has an attitude problem or whatever, I can't comment on that because I didn't follow him enough in Pitt, Washington and NYC. I think he is definitely worth pursuing as long as the priorities first are having Mursak and Emmerton round out roster spots (and possibly re-signing Draper which I haven't ruled out yet).

It was pretty hilarious and I got a kick out of it like probably most others in here. Unfortunately, his #1 job isn't supposed to cater to the fans directly. He basically has to keep the owners happy. They're happy first, he stays in a job. Catering to the fans obviously comes within the territory of making sure the owners are happy in some way/shape/form, but he reports to the owners. I don't necessarily like it either, but they've liked the job he has done which is most important to his security, so I don't hear ramblings that he is leaving anytime soon.

Not all Canucks fans are like this, but those and other Vancouver residents that don't care about hockey involved in this, absolutely disgraceful.

I'm not against signing Jagr, but not at the expense of losing others/young 4th liners that can be claimed off waivers, you get the picture. Getting Draper re-signed (if they do) is more of a priority as well. I think he could still be useful, but again see above.

Oddly enough, sometimes you have better offensive numbers than usual to win the Selke. Look at Draper when he won it in 2004 (?), he's only been good for at most 10-15 goals a year and that year he scored 20+ and had his best offensive production. So while Datsyuk and Zetterberg are great defensively obviously, their offensive numbers help their cause. I love Flipper, he's a great defensive forward, but is offensively too streaky or hot/cold or whatever. It shouldn't matter as much, but some offensive production with the Selke does make a difference. I know you are a big fan of him, but this is a bit of a stretch.
