    Wings unlikely to sign Osgood/Draper

And you are the only one being a pr**k about the situation. Get a clue. *sigh* MacDonald is NHL ready at least for backup and he doesn't have a big health risk. Like most in here (I am guessing) a lot want the youth movement, which I'm for, but Draper has still got it for a 4th line role, even if it is in/out the lineup. All for re-signing him though I understand if they don't. Given how Osgood has been loyal to the organization/vice-versa and how I defend him when people in here act like absolute lunatics towards him, I'm not against bringing him back but again, big health issue etc.

    Changes in the offseason

Bulls**t. You pretty much gave the perception that 80+ points is a guarantee. You may claim that you didn't say or type that specifcially, but it is still the PERCEPTION you gave off, and people are going to remember the PERCEPTION of your response, so quit backpedaling. It is you, after all, talking about Hudler here. Embelishment and overhype is your standard regarding him. And what's sad is you still are probably going to be completely oblivious to the fact that you are overhyping him, yet again for the umpteenth time.

    The person below me game...

Yep, per se, annual family 4th of July vacation to the Pensacola, FL area about 3 hours away from my home base. Whether I have to drive or not myself or take my car, that is yet to be determined. I'm fine either way. The person below me thinks that this joke is funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3dqIJd7O-Q

    2010-2011 Central Hockey League Champions

Cool stuff. I barely follow minor league hockey anymore but I remember when there was decent hockey presence in this state in the late 90s/early part of last decade. Every main metropolitan area had a minor league team at one point (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette in South Central LA, Lake Charles in SW LA, Alexandria in central Louisiana, Shreveport area, and Monroe in Northeast Louisiana area) I went to college in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, in Fort Worth, and Fort Worth at the time had a team in either the Central Hockey League (which is now back not in Fort Worth itself, but the Metroplex area). I was into them a good bit my first two years of college there but then school and money costs and the like slowly put it out of the picture. Bossier City/Shreveport was in the same league obviously. Was good times seeing that much prescence in my home state a while back. Again while I'm not really into the minors anymore in-depth, I try to make a short drive to one minor league game a year, either in Lafayette to see the Ice Gators or to see the now Misssissippi Surge, both of the Southern Professional Hockey League now. Mississippi (they play in Biloxi) is actually closer to me, only about a 75 minute drive roughly. Lafayette is about two hour drive away from me. And I don't really worry about wanting a bigger hockey prescence down here or whatever. It'd be nice obviously but I know where I'm at, it's home for me, and for the most part there's little/no attention to it in general for the average person if it's just your run-of-the-mill regular season game or whatever, which isn't going to change soon. Doesn't really bother me. I like watching it, I don't really try to force it down other people, so that's good enough for me.

    Mike Modano

Right right. Could he have not talked about it in public? Sure. Who knows if that itself cost him time down the stretch. But I highly doubt it was a situation that "had to be dealt with" or messed up locker room morale or overall team psyche or whatever. You could certainly interpret it as a lack of heart, but I think that's a bit much, especially given that the two playoff games he was in, he was pretty good (not superstar awesome by any stretch of the imagination, but not lazy either). Again just more general/natural frustration to me as opposed to lack of heart or blaming things or people.

    Mike Modano

He's nearing the end of his career, it's hard to be on the fringe in terms of finally deciding to move on and thinking you still have some gas left in the tank to be productive, which honestly I believe Modano could still be given the right role or minutes or whatever. Add to that the crappy luck with his injury and struggling to get back in the swing of things immediately while other players were being productive, it just confused things a little bit more. Whether you were for or against signing him last season is not my point here. I was happy the Wings signed him but if you weren't, cool. There were definitely reasons against signing him but that's not what I want to get into. I don't think it is lack of heart or drama. Just basically being open about what his thoughts were and not even close to playing the woe is me card or saying I should've or could've played more down the stretch or whatever. More just of a natural frustration than anything I think at the general situation about the freak injury, etc. I don't think he's blaming anybody or making excuses and what not. Could he have thrived more in a few more games in the playoffs? Perhaps so. Would it have been nice to see it happen? Sure. We'll never know. Him not playing more or what he is saying is not lack of heart, it's just simply he's trying to figure things out if and if it is time to end this part of his career, nothing more or less. Personally, I was a Modano supporter and would've liked to see him play more, but I'm not going to go on a rant that him not playing as much wasn't fair or if he would've played the Wings might've won stance, that's stupid. I wish he could've gotten a few more games but I get why he wasn't in as much, support the team first, etc. etc.

    How Much Is Hudler Worth?

"I gave him a dollar. I thought he'd go away if I gave him a dollar." Somebody gave somebody else a dollar for a trade to come here a long while ago. As for Hudler's worth, it's not his current contract's value that's for sure. Not necessary for his biggest fan on here to bother responding with a statistical composition, it's not going to change my mind.

    Jonathan Ericsson's Value?

I think he has more upside/potential than whipping boys like Lebda or Williams. He wants to be here which I'm all for, always like that attitude, but if he thinks he's more than $1.25M-$1.5M a year, I'd say it is time to explore the free agent market. I'd love to have him back but he hasn't shown (yet) that he is no more than a 5th or 6th d-man. If he comes back and blossoms into something better than that, more power to him obviously.

    The Unthinkable

What does Tomas Holmstrom have to do with anything regarding this? Two completely different situations. You are talking about a guy who fights injuries years and years ago to a guy who is relatively healthy most of his career. The only thing that is similar between the two is they've played for the same team their entire career. Apples and oranges bigtime. Spare me the discussion b.s. When you ask any obvious question that's going to get a no duh response from pretty much everybody, expect responses to not always be so pretty. To you and Dave, the world isn't a ray of sunshine all the time, don't expect everybody to agree with you or say nice thoughts all the time.
