Okay, trade him FOR WHO?!?!?!? While I don't feel the same way you do about Kronwall, my beef isn't with that as he does commit brainfart turnovers every now and then. Anybody can through a 1-line rant about how we need to trade this player or that player sucks. Anybody can do that. What is irritating as hell is just ranting and not providing solutions. Give us substance or examples. WHO SHOULD WE GET, OR WHO/WHAT DO YOU WANT TO GET, IN RETURN FOR KRONWALL?

Why? Because it's "THE COOL THING TO DO" today.

Question for the ones who are on the extreme end of pro-enforcement and fighting that I am interested in knowing…If Downey didn’t “fight†or “enforce†as much/at all and was probably just a fourth liner/â€Âgrinder†type player, would you all be clamoring for him to play this badly? NOT SO MUCH TO-THE-POINT DISCLAIMER: Please understand because I don’t want to get into the 7-millionth debate on enforcement or fighting when nobody’s opinion is ever going to change, mine included, and we all waste each other’s time…If anybody labels me somebody who is 100% an anti-fighter or enforcer from this post, I will jump through my computer and strangle you (that alone should show you I’m not completely against fighting and aggression ). It has its place, but I don’t think it is as important as others do in here. So, when/if Downey gets playing time, I won’t be overdramatically saying he’s a waste of space out their on the last line if he doesn’t quite perform or “fight†as much. Do a like a hockey fight? Of course, I enjoyed seeing the Drake scrap in last night's game, but it wasn't like I was doing back flips off the wall in celebration. Would I like to see Downey play? Sure. But it’s not killing me that he isn’t in the lineup right now, and that’s not because I have something against Downey the player or Downey the person (am aware he is having visa/work issues). Again, the overall concept just isn’t as big a deal to me, especially if this team keeps winning more often than and continues to make the playoffs and have a shot at the Cup with the current style of play. I understand, or at least I think I have some understanding, why some in here feel they way they do about this issue, but I’ll just never share the same overall mindset as long as this team contending in the manner they do on a consistent basis. And they still are. If they stop winning, then change the system to more big bodies or enforcers or some other playing style. Right now though, there’s no need to seriously change or overhaul just for the sake of enforcement or even entertainment. I don’t need to be constantly “entertained†with fighting, I just want to see them win, and I don’t care if it might be a little more boring right now.

Nashville also has the Titans, and with Vince Young QBing that team for the immediate future, they are going to be a good sell there. They also have an arena football team. So the Predators aren't the only ticket in town.

Can't really see myself opening up to the north/south idea. West-East just makes mroe sense. And, while I would love for Detroit to be in the EC obviously to see teams like Toronto, Philly, and New York more, I can deal with them being in the WC. Just re-arrange the damn schedule to play every team at least once. No more of this 8 games against divisional opponents, it's just too much, I don't care how much of a rival teams might be. Trim those to 6, that's 24 games. 4 games against the 10 non-divisional conference opponents, 40 games. 1 game against each team in the other conerence, that's 15 games. 79 games in all, no problems.

I pretty much have a small dosage of Samuelsson man-love by default just about every game now, since he usually isn't as bad a hockey player as overdramatized by many members in here.

Don't push the damn button! Seriously, I wouldn't get worried about it (as it seems you aren't). I've been to London/Europe and getting back home, it took me about 2-3 days to get accustomed once again to living in the Central Time zone back here in the States. It takes a little time to recover from jet lag. The Ducks will be fine in about a week or so. As much as I like to travel, if I was a professional athlete I wouldn't be all that thrilled to play a game or two overseas, even though I should be used to constantly traveling when a season is in progress. I would like to keep a routine, etc. I dunno, I'm just like that in my own life. It's very structured/repetitive, usually work out early in the morning, go to work, do personal work or relax at night. It's boring more often than not but it's how I function and am most productive.

Last night, watching the LSU-Florida game was one of the more entertaining football games I have seen in recent memory. Florida, despite getting upset against Auburn the week before, is a legit team still and was not going to play conservative or be intimidated on a Saturday night at Tiger Stadium. They pretty much took it to LSU for 3 quarters, but LSU finally started to make plays on defense and enough on offense to rally and win in the last minute of the game. As tired as I am of hearing the media hump Tim Tebow's leg, Florida's QB, he is the real deal and I think he'll be a Heisman candidate in time. I really like Les Miles, he rarely plays conservative and is not afraid of gambling when the odds are not favorable (but still realistic). LSU went for it on 4th down 5 times last night, and got it all 5 times... 4th-1 conversion from Florida's 1 early in the 2nd quarter for a TD... Fake FG attempt (though not the "flip play" ) on about 4th-and-7 or so for a 1st down early in the 4th quarter. QB/holder Matt Flynn ran for about 10. Same series in the 4th, they go for it on 4th and goal from about the 4 trailing 24-14. Flynn throws a TD pass. Down 24-21 on their last series before they eventually scored the game winning TD, they go for it on 4th-and-2 from around Florida's 10. I thought Miles was out of his mind. Take the chip-shot FG. But LSU just barely got the first down within inches on a rush up the gut. They weren't done though... 4th-and-goal from the 2 soon after, and again they try. And again, a run up the gut yields a TD run. Again, one of the better and more entertaining games I have seen in a good while. LSU showed the true heart/fight of how a top-5 team can be capable of gutting out wins comin from behind last night.

Cutting out soda over time, which dramatically reduces sugar intake, seriously helps reduce weight. Nothing out of the ordinary to report right now with myself losing weight, still around where I usually am b/w 145 - 150 pounds which I am more than satisfied with, but something I am now incorporating into workouts most days...instead of doing situps, I now try to crouch into what looks like a fetal position on my back, keep my shoulders off ground, and try to kick/bike pedal my legs for as long as possible. Doing that will tone your chest fairly quickly if you keep at it.

Speedometer - The Real Me

While I would probably change my opinion if I wore them, seeing the jerseys for the first time last night, I actually liked them a bit. I liked how the C/A was on the right-sided area of the body. Didn't like the numbers on the sides being higher up from the white stripe than normal though.

Pronger's hate is well documented in here, and he's deserved it to a good extent, so I understand the booing of him. The same with Bertuzzi being a former Wing as well. But I'm over the whole Pronger drama. While he laid a questionable hit on Flipper last night, I just don't really think of him one way or the other as an a'hole or the greatest guy on earth. That, and what he did last playoffs is done, finished and over with. I'm just one to normally get over things easily and move on and just go about my business to the next thing in my life or normal routine, and I just don't boo or scream in general towards anybody. I wouldn't do it towards Pronger, Bertuzzi, Fedorov, Iginia, etc. It's just not my style. I don't really hate anybody that badly to focus all my energy towards them. So, as you might predict then, I'm a pretty dull and boring fan. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the games and hockey, I just don't get into that many side stories or extreme focus on a player. I normally just like to watch the game. For better or worse, I'm just an extremely non-chalant person by nature.

I don't have high def, but I've never had problems with Versus, not from watching hockey action, and no problems whatsoever when they broadcast college football games. Good quality picture.

In all seriousness now, the first couple games should probably be expected to be rusty (although this one wasn't all that bad), so as a result I really don't care how they are won. Good to get the season of with a W.
