    The person below me game...

I'm a guy so I don't wear them, not for their original purpose and I never have robbed or shoplifted anybody so I wouldn't have used it in that sense either. The person below me thinks that Twister should allow for you to only balance yourself on your fingers, nose, and toes and thinks that the game would be a lot more interesting then.

    Hudler's Future

Some people (1) are tied to the Red Wings emotionally for life a lot more than individual players are and (2) probably are all about honoring the length of your contracts. I'm sure these people probably get that individuals switch teams/jobs or whatever all the time and that you can waive no trade clauses or leave early or whatever, but they probably still stand for the 2 things I said regardless. It's neither right or wrong, bad or good. Probably just best to leave it at that instead of cherry picking people for why they dislike somebody or dislike a concept.

Subliminal Sidney Crosby Messages in NHL commercials?

Weeks and weeks without a Sidney Crosby hate thread... (and yes I think he is a putz but sometimes you get to your tolerance level of seeing the same thing over and over again) We were doing so well in here... *sigh* Carry on. *shrugs*

Brad McCrimmon will not return for 2011/2012

I'd be one of the last people on here to play the "Let's blame somebody" game when it isn't dead obvious when one person is pretty much at 100% fault. That's why I rarely get into bagging on typical whipping boys like Ericsson and Hudler because while they didn't have the best seasons obviously, they had their good moments and I think they can be beneficial players at times (conversely, it aggravates me to all ends when people on here overvalue players as well). But, Ericsson and Hudler specifcially isn't the point of my response, point is also they didn't fully help either, the same with McCrimmon here, and while he may not be 100% at fault, some things have to change and unforuantely (or fortunately depending on how you look at it and how the consensus here are looking at it) he's the one getting the ax. Is everything 100% rays and sunshine now that he is eliminated? No. Will it completely be that way eventually? Probably not. Does his exit help things? In all likelihood, yes.

    Hudler's Future

For the love of god, you must stop this schtick of yours and acting like every single mention of Hudler is like him being kicked to the curb like a poor little puppy dog. You get railed on over and over again for small sample sizes and your bias towards Hudler. You like him, cool. Nobody should have a problem with that. What is beyond aggravating is you trying to make him out better than he is in the way you do it and not listening to people who tell you these things over and over and over again. You aren't going to convince people on here that Hudler is better than he is regardless of how often you do your fancy little projections, number crunchings, small sample sizes, or whatever. Fair or not, people have their notions of Hudler from his play or lack thereof on the ice, not your essays or projections. It is not worth the time on here.

If that means once a week, then yes. The person below me is weirder than I am.

Which conference would you rather have the Wings in?

Eastern. I don't get much sleep as it is most days (by design/purpose), so I want as much as I can. West Coast games do not help with that.

    Holland or Yzerman?

Holland right now, perhaps Yzerman later. Those who always want change, the grass isn't always greener on the other side, at least in the immediate future. Holland is one of the best at present, not just me saying that, but fellow peers and the like. Not trying to knock Yzerman whatsoever with this, but it's only his first year as a GM. Give him time. This team is in fine hands with the current management. And hopefully that will include Yzerman in the somewhat near future (but not anytime soon).

    The person below me game...

Nah not really. Always down a bit when you know it's all over, but given how they came back from nearly impossible odds 3 games in a row, and nearly coming from behind to win again, can't really be overly disappointed or too sad or frustrated given how the scenario played out. The person below me thinks this is funny.

This. The homerism and leg humping of him almost literally makes my ears ring now. It is beyond numbing and aggravating.

I don't make to-do lists, just try to remember things in my head (which is challenging with my weird and loaded mind ) The person below me thinks this is funny.

    Hudler's Future

That's funny! I wouldn't mind giving Hudler one more season in his current contract, we know he can score and produce in specific situations, power play etc. and to be honest the last two playoff games I don't think he was that bad but like pretty much everybody else here I would not be against trading him if an opportunity presents itself because he isn't going to get the time to round out his defensive game here. Fair or not, Detroit has often had the depth to where Hudler didn't get top-line minutes consistently and I don't see that changing next season. Hudler's fan club need not respond to this with a Hudler isn't being treated fair rant or nothing is Jiri Hudler's fault schtick because we are not going to agree on that.

    2012 Winter Classic, Jan 2.

Any Red Wings pub is good to me obviously, but from an overall perspective to other fans and teams involved, it still wouldn't make it right. For anybody's info/interest these are pictures of Minnesota University's stadium if you've never seen in before or didn't watch one of the Vikings games that had to be played there due to their dome collapse last season, per to what I was referring to my first post here. Really nice venue it looks like.

    2012 Winter Classic, Jan 2.

Seriously? Philly again? How about hosting it in Minnesota? Minneapolis area has the stadium where the Twins play, as well as the University of Minnesota's fairly new football stadium which is only about 2 or 3 seasons played in. Seen it on TV, absolutely a beautiful new stadium. New York is still calling!!! Yankee Stadium is tied into a college bowl game on January 1st, but there's about 3295 stadiums in the New York area where they could play the game and get an atmosphere. And with anybody that might respond to me with the rating bit, I get it. I get that some places geographically get striked out by default but I am for equal access first. It was stupid for Pittsburgh to get second dibs so early because of Golden Boy, Philly getting 2nd dibs is silly as well. Let other teams have a shot as well, even if it is a team that can't host and is just a road team for the game.

    Vancouver's Green Guys

Love 'em. I encourage any fan silliness in a game as long as it's not hurting anybody.

Bigger Picture Question - What was the deciding factor?

They've been covered more or less in this thread I think, but the Wings PP let them down the most I think. You could play the what if game on countless scenarios in any series, and this series was as even as it got, but the lack of efficiency on the Wings PP stands out the most. This series also showed that the regular season does matter. The Wings screwed the pooch of course in a game 7 at home in the SCF of all games in 2009, but given my choice, I'd take playing a game 7 at home every time still. While finishing as a lower seed than San Jose isn't the only or main thing that caused the Wings to lose, I think it could have certainly been a factor.

Can The Wings Win This Series?

Definitely fair enough. Just trying to make it understandable that it works both ways. The happy-go let's stay positive crowd that belittles the other group (or anybody for that matter who show reasonable doubt or worry without saying we are screwed when basically they aren't really hinting at all of the negative attitude) is just as annoying as the Negative crowd that has to say "See I was right and you were stupid to hope".

Can The Wings Win This Series?

It's not so much tolerant as you have to expect it. Every fan base has its idiots and lunatics, people who go off the deep end emotionally, people who are just run-of-the mill in emotions and what not. The Red Wings fan base is no different, the fan bases where I live and the area I went off to for college are no different. Again, if you want to be the eternal optimist, that's great. I'd love for everybody to be that or act like it. It's not going to happen with everybody though, and while some of those people might aggravate me as well, it doesn't encompass everybody and not everybody who isn't an eternal optimist is a debbie downer or negative nancy who throws everybody under the bus. It's not going to change anytime soon with any fan base. Just gotta accept it and appreciate that you are an eternal optimist and move on. Let people be who they are.

Win or Lose: This Team *Needs* Nothing

Pretty much what I am thinking. There are different ways to assemble a championship roster, one way no more right or wrong then the other (i.e. Anaheim winning in 2007 with primarily size), generally speaking, but in most cases regardless if your team is more based on skill or size, the team with the better work ethic most often prevails in a game or the playoffs. Hot goalie factors in obviously but still, you get the idea.

    Howard......

If the Wings can do the unthinkable this series and then win it all this year, I think you got to give it to Datsyuk for overall performance up to this point. And you can easily make a case this series that without Datsyuk, they don't advance or at least make it back to game 7 for right now. But, this series MVP is Howard for me.
