Holmstrom is not going to sit, he's one of the leading producers this playoffs so far (and save your keystrokes, I get that he's with Datsyuk most the time and that is a factor), and his role on the powerplay is too important. Holmstrom's fine out there. Abdelkader is fine out there. Etc. etc. They don't need to overly tweak the roster, just play desperate and not have just that 1 or 2 heart-breaking defensive gaffes. It's not like they are being blown out of the water here.

It's a two-edged sword if you look at it from the con or "lazy" side. Would Modano's frustrations (which I certainly understand) of not getting back in cause him to throw in the towel early and not try as hard in a game? If the game in Phoenix serves as an indication, probably not, but I don't think that's an unrealistic question to ask. With Hudler, we all know of his offensive capabilities but he hasn't done much as the series has went on, and was on the ice near Boyle on one of those backdoor defensemen goals but absolutely no clue that he was around, playing the puck and not the body. I'd love to see Modano play, but I fully support whatever the coaching staff does. I rarely like getting into the bench so-and-so game or hold grudges against players or stuff like that.

Sorry guys. As much as we, and I myself, have complained about inconsistent officiating in the past, y'all need to slow your gears down. These side stories are a waste of time and you are just pissing yourselves off. Last night showed that the Wings also were fortunate with a few calls as well. It might not happen much to us because we see ridiculous phantom interference calls or whatever, but we get a break every now and then as well (i.e. Bertuzzi's goal which should've been offside). And both those penalties on Detroit were legit in the 3rd period, as much as I didn't like the call on Abdlekader in the heat of the moment either. And let's get one thing clear that I am one of the first people to blow gaskets at refs for phantom interference or intent to blow the whistle or whatever. Please stop wasting useless energy and just accept that the officiating and rules for the most part just aren't that good and are inconsistent. Nothing more and nothing less.

It's all but over, but anything is still possible. I don't think they will but that doesn't mean that I don't want them to or that they can't. I'll still watch game 4 and hope like pretty much everybody else here even though most probably are typing or thinking hope right now.

They got nothing to lose now, might as well give him a shot, the 3rd line or Flipper and Hudler hasn't made much of a dent at all this series, get Modano in for Hudler perhaps. And for people who says Modano is lazy or before Hudler's biggest fan yells at me with Hudler doing well or whatever, I get it. Again, Modano played solid in his one playoff game so far, they are all but done, might as well give it a shot even if he just plays 8-10 minutes.

Unless Franzen's ankle gets worse, no lineup changes. The effort has been there the past 2 games, just San Jose is also a very good team and we've been on the short end of the stick twice by just a goal.

Uh, he had 5 points in 4 games in the first round, one of the top three point producers I believe. This team has lost just twice in 6 tries in the playoffs. Stinks that they are 2 in a row to start the second round, but the losses were 1 goal each and the team was far from lazy in both against a solid opponent. Flipper's production or whenever he's not producing isn't a major reason or the sole reason this series is 0-2.

Keep him. High sticking penalties stink but 9 times out of 10 they are incidental/accidental. More Abdelkader, less knee-jerk reactions and scapegoating. If you don't like my response, well, sorry, tough s**t.

Mike Modano not playing is not a major reason the Red Wings lost Friday. If he plays I'm all for it, but it was their first loss in 5 tries in the playoffs Friday. Get a f**king grip people.

Wasn't the majority wanting the Wings to finish the Coyotes quickly to have a break? Now we're complaining that there was too long of a layoff as a result? You can't have it both ways.
