Calgary has a sick home record. Settle down. Until the Flames prove to me that they can win on the road, there's not much need to be losing sleep or having your blood pressure boil up.

Good grief, here we go again... Yes Hasek needs to stop with the embelishing. He's proven he's still extremely capable despite being over the hill these past two seasons, and especially this season staying injury free for the most part. He's the 'tender, no if's/and's/but's. Special teams need to get their act together more than Hasek does. End of story. Case closed.

Time warp: 2001, wings lose in 6, give up 2-0 lead
SouthernWingsFan replied to WingedWheelin06's topic in General
If it's a different situation, why just only bring a doom-and-gloom the world is ending scenario? The series is definitely up for grabs now, but if it's different situations, you cannot tell me with any accuracy the the Wings are just f**ked beyond belief this series when it's a best-of-three now, and vice versa of course. -
Osgood isn't even playing, why even bring him up?

Kano ripping a guy's heart out of his chest like in Mortal Kombat, that's no heart. Kano hasn't ripped the hearts out of each and every Red Wing, so these guys still have heart or they'd be dead.
-
If you already know what's going to happen and that the team has no heart, don't watch the next few games then to save yourself the trouble.

No. If Hasek's healthy, he's the #1 guy, no questions asked.

Optimistic Thread....Series is Tied ! Were not out
SouthernWingsFan replied to Calgary Wings Fan's topic in General
Had to expect this to an extent people... Losing the lead in game 3 was frustrating, yes, but this is the best home team in the league the Wings are playing. They got the job done just enough... Disappointed that they aren't up 3-1? Of course. Am I surprised? No. Just look at my last sentence above why, and that the Wings have been on both sides of the spectrum with 2-0 leads in the playoffs. I won't be surprised, based on that, if they get eliminated, but I'm cautiously optimistic as well and am not going to act shocked if they advance. (1) Calgary isn't that great on the road. (2) Wings are good at home. (3) Calgary has to win at least 1 on the road. (4) Momentum is important, but overrated in sports. Just calm down, have a few drinks tomorrow night going out, then watch game 5 Saturday and see what happens. If the WIngs goof that game up, then it's concern time. Until then, I am realistic of what might happen, but optimistic as well. :beerbuddy: -

So they have momentum...Of course it probably helps...to an extent... I'm not discounting it, but it's overhyped IMO. All it takes is one goofy bounce or a 5-on-3 the Wings way and the series could flip back in their favor. It hasn't happened the last 2 games, we all might think it NEVER happens b/c of these last two games and us being emotionally out of whack but... You just never know. Throw momentum out the window b/c it's not like the Wings have just been flat out awful out there. -

We're frustrated, but we also realize that the series isn't decided yet and we're not waving red flags. Don't take this stuff too seriously. Just go to bed, settle down and get some sleep, and realize there's still a few games left to be plyed. -

I'm not that pleased either, but I also have a clear head and am sensible enough to realize without getting all irked that (1) Calgary is good at home (2) The Wings PP is struggling but... (3) Calgary isn't that good on the road. If the Wings floop up game 5, then I'll panic. I see no absolute doom-and-gloom scenario of that happening though. I'm not guaranteeing a win, but sheesh, it's not like Calgary is a just impossible to beat team on the road, and it's not like the WIngs have just been downright awful either. I'm just going to chill until Saturday, then either get really excited or worried... -
1. Wings aren't even trailing in the series. 2. Calgary has yet to prove that they can win on the road. So everybody, let's sit down and shut the f**k up.

Unless Hasek just completely stinks up the joint one of these next two games, and the odds of that IMO are slim/none, he's playing back-to-back. No questions asked, no if's, and's or but's.

It's just a busy night for VS, triple coverage. I checked my digital TV guide and all should fine in my neck of the woods where I live in the Central Time Zone). Here's the VS lineup where I am at. Pittsburgh @ Ottawa, 7:00pm ET - 9:30pm ET (6:00pm CT - 8:30pm CT) Detroit @ Calgary, 9:30pm ET - 12:00am CT (8:30pm CT - 11:00pm CT) Dallas @ Vancouver, 12:00am ET - 1:00am ET (11:00pm CT - 12:00am CT) Whether I get to see the whole game might be in question, the first game would have to get completed first in all likelihood. I'm betting Dallas/Vancouver is more like a bonus coverage thing, at least for me, even though their game starts only a half hour after Wings/Flames. I should get the full Wings game tonight.

My routine today: work, exercise, go home...just like every other day. *shurgs* Plus I shaved last night, so I get an F for a playoff beard, but an A for a lack of a playoff beard. Guess I blew it in this thread!
-
I understand where you are coming from, but I kinda look at it differently, while still keeping with the overall message of the thread. I thought Markov and Schneider, while they threw some good hits, took some bad penalites and I don't think they played their best, along with most of the Wings team. They almost won that game in spite of some struggles though, so that's an encouraging sign in my opinion.
-
Why? It would've been a helluva invenstemtn since there's been about 6 or 700 Lang threads these past two seasons.
-
Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Beer.......
-
If I invested a nickel in every Robert Lang thread that has been created in here the past two seasons with accruing interest, I'd be a rich man by now.

I'm scared and panicked. I should just sit in a room with no TV for hockey, no sharp objects, no windows to jump out of in panic hurting myself. Just a room tomorrow night during gametime, and I should just sit in it, staring at a wall, emotionless. This will definitely cure the panic attacks. Or something... /sarcasm
-
First, the Wings would have to lose a second game then. Good grief if people are loco now, wait unitl the 2nd loss if it happens! Yipes!!!! Then, if that third one hits, I might as well just crawl into a ball and go stare at a wall far away from any computer for like 15 straight hours!

Well it seems like you are the only one to say it in here. Sorry, I strongly disagree with you that he is a liability.

NHL Center Ice during playoffs question
SouthernWingsFan replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Well, I decided to put a call in to my cable provider, but I was too late they were closed unfortuantely. What's weird is I got the Ducks/Wild game last night, not on VS at all, but neither of the other few games that weren't on VS weren't on NHL Center Ice either. Interesting and curious I am about this..... -
Greetings all... Isn't NHL Center Ice supposed to keep rolling until the conclusion of the 2nd round of the playoffs for both conferences? I had Direct TV last season and never had any problems with Center Ice, but now have digital TV with my local cable provider. I finally had time to watch a lot of hockey yesterday and tried to watch some of Anaheim-Minnesota on NHL Center Ice to no avail. The same thing tonight when I tried to tune into New Jersey-Tampa Bay (?) for a few minutes. Did NHL Center Ice change their rules up, or is it just because more games might be broadcasted on VS this playoff year, or is it my cable provider?
