For down here, yes. Today it stormed most of the day with a threat of tornados. Weather is settled down now but it's going to be cold and windy all day tomorrow, cold and rainy all day Thursday with possible wintry mix, and cold and windy all day Friday with a chance of snow. And it rarely snows down here. The person below me thinks this is funny.

Ask. I'm not one who goes out looking for content or starting fights when they aren't necessary, but if somebody has a problem with me I want them to tell me. Just tell me and get it over with. I'm a big boy, I'll eventually get over it if it hurts me. Waldo or Inspector Gadget

Checkin' in... Taken over last weekend where I am from, in a park/on a pier overlooking Lake Ponchartrain on a mild Winter day. Was in the Detroit area during the first few days of the annual auto show, went to the Red Wings-Blue Jackets game that weekend (6-5 OT win). This is me in the current year of the car model I own, Toyota Camry.

Red Wings Hosting the Classic, 24/7at some point?
SouthernWingsFan replied to Eggs Over Eavesy's topic in General
I was on the mindset that I think every team should get a fair shot to play a Winter Classic at least once. However since that logic was thrown out the window and Pittsburgh already played in a 2nd outdoor game because of he who shall not be named, I'm all for the Wings hosting a Winter Classic as soon as possible, whether it's at Univ. of Michigan or downtown Detroit at Comerica Park. Either would be fine by me. -
Just another Sunday. Overhyped to the extreme (and while I'm glad the Saints won last year obviously, still overhyped in the general sense). Face to Face or Butt to Face

Could snow down here later this week. *shrugs* And in other news, I've been doing a good job avoiding the 'Noid.

I have hardwood floors downstairs in my house, carpet upstairs, so I got both. The person below me points and laughs at pretty much everything.

Meh. Tampa Bay has had one of the few jerseys that has been consistently good in the past. Blue/white/grey/black was a very solid combo. Need to bring the black back in.

Nope. The person below me has done jumping jacks in public just because.

Good job on recognizing the reference. Tonight's forecast is going to be dark. I win the Captain Obvious award for the day.

The following of Lilja on here was always very interesting and a bit weird to me. His first season or two, he was basically no better than monkey dung to a lot of people in here, and then as he slowly got better during his tenure here, he developed this cult type following. I was never one to rag on him even when he initally struggled (though I'm pretty much not like that with anybody in terms of extreme disliking/liking), but I was never going to jump fully onto the cult type dealie. I would've preferred Lilja to stay, not because of the cult following status, but because he seemed to establish himself here over a few seasons, got better over time, and even after coming back from his concussion I thought he was still solid for the most part (though not as good as pre-concussion). At the same time though, while I wish he would've stayed I wasn't going to throw the overly sorrow party for him like others seemed to in here because it was all his and/or his agent's doing (not saying that's a bad thing, sometimes it is just time to move onto a different place in your career), Holland and Red Wings management eventually had to move on to cover their ends when signing Lilja was probably turning more difficult over time, etc. Hence which is why I supported signing a guy like Salei at the time. Again, would I have liked Lilja to stay? Of course. Has Salei been lights out awesome? Not really. Has he gotten the job done overall given his role? Pretty much I think to where it's not worth it to overly yap and complain about or draw valid comparisons to Lilja. I'm not going to go that route just because Lilja became a fan favorite in here.

I'm not in hell presently, I'm on earth. So I'm not sure. The person below me wonders how switching to GEICO can save you 15% or more on car insurance.

Should be more choices. Do I support them in genereal? Yes. Do the Wings absolutely need one? No. Never played competitive hockey before.

I can roll along with that. With Lemeieux, (and hopefully what I say here won't make me have lost respect ) what he did to Draper and how he played a lot was pretty chicken s**t. I can respect though that he pretty much never apologized for the way he played, he accepted that if he was going to be an a'hole, he wasn't going to get pissy or have a hissy fit at others possibly being an a'hole back to him. As much as I hated him, looking back now (and the Lemieux-McCarty interview helped as well) I consider him a no-nonsense guy, this is who I am, I can't help it, I'm not going to get mad at you if you dish punishment back at me, and I expect it given the way I played. Again it'd be very very hard for me to like him or to give him the time and day if I ever saw him in person, he's got a lot of cojones/nerves and I despise that about him, but also respect him a little bit for that as well. He doesn't b.s. around pretending to be somebody he isn't. I'd be really interested too see if he was ever this way in life outside his job and profession. With Crosby, he's just an immature punk right now. Sorry if that is harsh, but he is to me. Some of that is unfair probably, it doesn't help that he's constantly focused on by media as well, but that is who he is right now. Before Carman gets his panties in a bunch, it has nothing to do with disrepsecting his game or being jealous of his talent. I get that he is one of the best players in the game at present, but I just can't stand his whiney attitude and that nobody should be able to touch me, but I can do it to others. That's the main difference to me between Lemieux and Crosby. Hopefully in time Crosby can mature. And, as an aside, I'd dislike Pittsburgh a lot less and be more at ease with accepting that they defeated us in 2009 and would have a lot more respect for NHL marketing etc. if they understood this and basically don't turn the other cheek (not expecting them to do it for me, but you get the idea I think). I don't expect Crosby (or anybody for that matter) to act like a perfect gentleman on and off the ice, but there's a reason why a lot of people dislike him and why he was voted one of the whiniest players in the league by his own peers.

Bud Light Worse sounding word that is spelled the same way backwards or forwards... Boob or Poop

Doesn't matter to me. My local team got eliminated and other than possibly Atlanta and New England, don't have a strong disliking for other teams. The person below me thinks this is funny.

If we are going on a historical perspective from this list, I'd go with Claude Lemieux. Present time though, it's not even close. Crosby. Pronger and Perry should get honorable mentions.

How does Marty Turco REALLY feel about Pierre McGuire?
SouthernWingsFan replied to tdinc's topic in General
Whether he meant it or not, that was just downright hilarious!
