Only been able to skim responses but one stood out to where I think it said one poster didn't have a problem with bandwagoners, etc. I'm pretty much the same way, and no matter how much people in here might not want to admit it, Wings fans have their fair share as well. And bandwagoners aren't necessarily a bad thing. You have to start liking a team sometime, and I started liking the Wings and watching hockey in the mid-90s when they were hitting their peak and good, does that make me a crappy fan since I started liking them primarily because they played well? I don't care about bandwagoners, I don't get hot and bothered over fan chants and the like as long as they don't hurt anybody. Is "Detroit sucks" silly? Sure, but they could say thousands of things worse or degrading. Not worth getting too pissed off at. I went to Nashville for a game a few seasons ago, the game the Wings got slaughtered 8-0. Despite that, not one bad experience with Nashville fans. Now, do I think Tootoo is a scumbag and the Tootoo whistles are silly? Of course. But he's a fan favorite there and probably always will be no matter how much we think he is low, and I'm pretty much fighting a losing battle if I try to convince Nashville fans that he is dirty. Not worth getting hot and bothered over and the Tootoo whistles are part of the fan experience there. Cool, I have no problem with that. And I didn't have one encounter with Nashville fans acting over the top or harassing despite the big win. Basically, just don't be a d**k towards other teams fans outside the stuff I just said or like I referenced in my original blurb about Chicago Bears fans being a'holes to Saints fans recently, and don't disrespect an athlete who did a whole lot for your organization. I know all Blackhawk fans weren't like this but it is a damned shame that Chelios had to correct them and tell them off, it should have never come to that. EDIT: It's bascially stuff like this which makes me dislike Philadelphia fans, in all sports in general, fair or not. They always get a bad rap for just being a'holes when there is no reason to be one.

I'd obviously love it being a Wings fan, but it wouldn't be fair to other teams that haven't even participated yet, even warmer climate located teams that would play it as the road team. I get Pitt and Washington drawing in ratings, but it's just so stupid and unfair that Pitt gets to play in this event, again when a good chunk of teams haven't even had a sniff of consideration yet. If that standard is out the window now, I'm all for the Wings playing again in it as soon as possible. If not, get other teams who haven't played yet.

While I want Pronger the person outside the hockey rink to recover normally, I won't miss him on the ice. Recovery slowly for all i care.

K... Good for him and best of luck to him. Still don't miss him all that much on here. And +/- is fairly a moot point when it is around 0, typically your better players or point getters will have higher +'s the majority of time. As others have brought up, Kopecky is a fairly decent - despite having a respectable amount of points. You've shown positive bias towards him in the past when very few people did and will continue to not do so, which is fine and I have no problem with that, you like who you like. You conveniently though left out his cons/possible cons to spin your argument, in this case him being a decent - number, and you've done this plenty in the past in order to support your arguments, don't even try to deny it. This is just another example. As has been told to you plenty in the past, it is not all about numbers and they can easily be twisted around to support or refute and argument. You aren't going to convince many to wish having him back here.

Not that much anymore. Not a barhopper and I don't like overcrowded ones. I'm over that stuff. Staying in and cooking my own meals or buying my own wine is cheaper. Small crowd or relaxed environment at a restaurant or bar and I'm usually fine to hanging out for a bit, but I'm not dealing with overcrowds. Tarnished? I seriously doubt that those players who got their number retired will be offended or care that badly if Osgood's number got to the rafters and wouldn't hold a grudge or whatever. I think you are making too big a deal out of this. These people are perfectly entitled to their opinions that Osgood's number should be retired just as much as you thinking it shouldn't be. Nothing wrong with that. I personally don't think he'll get his number retired but if he does, great. More power to him. If not, oh well.

Why do you care so much about showing the world refuting what a player has done and putting him down?

While I don't expect it, it would not shock me and I will be doing plenty of forehead smacks if Pittsburgh is even considered again. New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils or New York Islanders Done. (Yes, I get that the Devils and Islanders don't exactly bring in the ratings, I'm leaning more towards the rivalry aspect)
