Brett Lebda smells. Never really got the hang of this whole trash talking bit.

Considering I'll be in Las Vegas on vacation Halloween weekend, I'd say yes.

Never watched either but I'll go with X-Files The 7th Inning Stretch or The Two Minute Warning

Why are there silencer guns? It takes the fun out of shooting things. Noise is cooler!

It's a what have you done for me lately business, no matter if it's just the 2nd game of the season or the 200th, fair or unfair. And fans in general, while a game is being played or immediately before or after it, rarely think big picture I think - whether it is understanding that your team is rebuilding and probably won't make the post sesason, whether your team is consistently good and shouldn't have trouble making the postseason, whether the season is young and there is a long time to fix any consistent mistakes, whatever. I think you can call a spade a spade whenever you want to whether it's just 1 game into a season or 50, and nobody is off limits to criticism, but it helps to not be closed-minded IMO and just focus on the current game itself whether a team or somebody stinks up the joint and think that is how the rest of the season will go for that team or player. Pretty much any team and any player will go hot and cold in a lengthy season. And, as the original poster mentioned earlier, I do not question the fan status either of people that act like idiots (to me) saying so-and-so should retire or are just way too knee-jerkish, even though I'd like to punch them half the time for not using their brains. As much as I think the knee-jerk reaction is stupid, I don't like getting into the real vs. fake fan b.s. because of whether you are knee-jerkish or a puckbunny or whatever because that's all it is, b.s. If you watch the games and have an interest in the team doing well, you're a fan. However, a lot of these people get butthurt if they get called out, they might yell that others are homers or can't question the team or whatever. I'm certainly not implying that and I'm sorry, but I have just as much right as you do to state my case and say that you are acting obnoxious if you think the sky is falling or stuff like so and so should retire after just 1 or 2 games in a season or any other player is useless when it obviously won't happen and these players are certainly capable professionals, or else they wouldn't be here. Again, everybody will ebb/flow from time to time and pinning losses or singling out one player to blame for a loss by the team is incredibly stupid unless it is dead obvious. For one person's lack of production in a game, I can probably give you several of other examples that were major factors in a loss (i.e. in Dallas loss - Osgood getting a s**tload of blame letting in 4 goals that he pretty much had little/no chance on all of them even though Dallas had limited opps. - what about lack of power play production, Stuart being lackadasial on one of the 3rd or 4th goals, etc.). Basically, to me it's all about the tone. Don't being so knee-jerkish in a panic or pissed off mode and you'll be taken a bit more seriously. Example - "Player x is a weak puckhandler or not aggressive enough". Good tone even though I might not like it and might not agree with you. "THIS DUDE IS USELESS AND NEEDS TO BE TRADED FOR A BAG OF PUCKS OR SHOULD RETIRE!!!", bad tone.

Major. Sounds more important. Hitting somebody in the back with a chair leg, or hitting somebody in the back with a table leg?
-
Sure. The person below me thinks that contemplating the meaning of life is overrated.

They are overthinking this. While I get it, why complicate it some more? Personally, I like the shootout, even though the Wings have struggled with it for whatever reason(s) recently. The problem isn't overtime format, IT'S THE POINT SYSTEM. You get a point for losing, that's just silly. 0 points for losing at any point in the game, no questions asked. 1 point for a shootout victory 2 points for a win in regulation/overtime

We need more cookies in this thread. And an enforcer. Give me some slack, I'm not funny to begin with and it's 5:40am at present.

What I've learned through stuff like this and how fans in general react to any of their teams adversities is that very few people will change their behaviors, either on the happy-go-cheerleader all the time extreme or the morons who will never seem to understand how a season or players ebb/flow at their job like haroldsnepts just illustrated. The mojo of a majority of people will never change so it's a lost cause trying to change both extremes point of view when it comes to bi-polarness, so now if I'm ever in this situation, I basically just mess with the people who are being beyond moronic and poke fun at them for my personal entertainment.

Sometimes. The person below me thinks I post a lot of zany stuff on here.

Hudler thinks you all smell and would kick your asses in a clucking contest.

A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. Fans are going to be fickle for any team and any team is going to have their moronic fans. Fans should always want the team to win, demand results, etc. But they got to realize and put things in perspective, such as just like in their profession or job, you're not going to always want to fully work, other factors prevent you from doing your job perfectly, whatever. I've had bad or less than productive days at my job before. These guys are going to as well. Or such as you are going to have crappy games in such a lengthy season regardless of how good or bad your team is, and we are fortunate to have a team that usually has a lot less crappy games than usual and that has gotten to having the chances of playing for the Stanley Cup for nearly 20 years in a row. Just understand such things for instance, and especially understand them when it is a good bet they'll make postseason play yet again for the 20th straight year, and espeically just 4 games into such a lengthy season. I get being frustrated after the last game for instance, I certainly was. I understood that if this game was the norm they are not going to get far but I also understood that there are still plenty of chances for them to play better, they'll hit a good streak sometime soon probably given the nature of an 80+ game season, another postseason should happen, blah blah blah. Right now it is impossible for this team (or any team for that matter) to suggest to me that our hopes for a deep postseason run or championship are in serious jeopardy after just 4 games. But some of the topics, while it definitely entertained me to mess with some people, were just downright stupid and beyond fickle. I've seen a lot of stupid in here before and it'll never fully be absent from anywhere, but yesterday ranks really high on the stupid scale. Some people like chaos and being around people who are neurotic. While it can be fun to mess with these people, I'd rather it not come to that. Obvious logic is all I ask for, and it was lacking heavily here in some of the topics yesterday.

I believe I did both at the same time, which makes me ultra cool!

You're funny, you know that? Thanks for providing me with entertainment this afternoon.

Playoffs are almost always wide open year in and year out. They've won Cups and also gotten upset in the 1st round as well in recent memory. You have to get to the playoffs first, and they still did that in spite of injuries and the bad start. We're going to get beer, striaght Vodka, and a personal stripper for you then. You're never happy on here, and you need to be happy in life.
-
Last time I checked they still made the playoffs, 19th year in a row. We need to get a whole bunch of beers in your system and get you drunk and happy. You have got to loosen up.

If this was a 4-game season, we'd be in deep s**t!!!!!
