I don't just downright dislike any teams, but the three below I won't feel sorry if they get eliminated. Pitt - Obvious reasons. Philadelphia - Nothing too much against the team, just don't like Philly fans in general. Nashville - Nothing against the team either, or Weber and the incident (sucks that it happened obviously but after the 2nd/3rd game it was pretty much water under the bridge to me), 100% because of their fans. Razzing the goalie or the other team in game action, never really bugged me, but right after the game/series ended when they cheered you suck, that did it for me. They could be saying things that are plenty worse, it might be "just what they do", it's still a piss-poor thing to do. Celebrate without being a bunch of jackasses. So, those three primarily, but in all likelihood whoever wins now probably won't make me lose sleep at night.

Subjective. I can throw so many other what if scenarios that don't hold any more or less weight than your deal that says we should've finished 6th. What if the Wings won the final game of the regular season in normal time and the Predators lost their final game, making the Wings the 4th seed? What if Franzen's "no-goal" in game 3 came a few tenths of a second earlier? What if Hudler didn't hit the post in game 4? What if three teammates and Howard didn't overcommit in game 4 on the Predators 2nd goal? What if Rinne let in a bad goal or two throughout the series? I can't give you the answers to these questions with 0% truth/fact, just like you cannot say us finishing 6th would've been guaranteed victory.

Happy is guilty of this most. Flipper to a lesser degree IMO. Sometimes I urge for Datsyuk to shoot but given his individual ability to create scoring chances like nobody's business, he gets a pass. Other than that they shoot enough. Some of it is low percentage stuff, yes, but I'm of the mentality, get it to the net, you never know what'll happen even if it just generates an offensive zone faceoff or when a goofy rebound might come out, even for solid goaltenders like the one we are facing at present.

The parts of the game I saw yesterday wasn't even hockey. Beyond out of control and obnoxious. I am not saying I do not like physical play or fighting or sending a message, so don't even go there putting words in my mouth. All for that. Hell, when the Wings-Avs series was heated in the late 90s/early 2000s, other than the Kozlov-Foote and Lemieux-Draper incidents, even when fights broke out and the few en masse fights broke out, it was never to me this out of control or just going beyond dirty cheap shots like what I saw yesterday. Am I off base on this at all or comparing completely different things? I haven't seen all 3 games in-depth but seeing some of the highlights I would think some of the Flyers are guilty some of the dirty cheap shot type, but two specifics on the Penguins end I'm talking about is Asham's cheap shotting in the 2nd period to the Flyers high but solid hit by #10 (forgot his name), and Crosby yanking Hartnell's hair back and tossing the guy's glove aside with him right by it ready to pick it up.

I went to a game in Nashville in the 2008-09 season, if you can recall the game where we actually got destroyed 8-0. Even though the big loss, I enjoyed the atmosphere that game. I can get why the goalie name you suck chant or the Tootoo whistles bother people. They can do much worse in terms of being disrespectful or whatever, but again I get if it gets to people. Funny thing related to that is down here there used to be a minor league team back in the late 90s early 2000s, I went to games there off/on before my college days and they'd razz the goalie with the exact same chant after he gave up a goal. Anyways...I got no issue with that and as with fan experiences in general as long as nobody provokes me personally by getting in my face or throwing something at me or ruining the fan experiences of other people around by being too obnoxious, I don't care what you do. What isn't right regarding this specifically is two things. The hockey doesn't belong in the South stereotype from in here (though that thankfully doesn't seem to come up much anymore), and like others have probably already touched on plenty in here, the head incident what people there now refer to as "Webering". I thought things like "Tebowing" or "Linsanity" were beyond obnoxious, but at least those aren't referencing anything where a possibly severe injury occured. The deal with Weber that happened that fans are now mimicing, that isn't right.

Abdelkader with Cleary and Nyquil have been a solid 3rd line. He's also had plenty of experience playing with Miller and/or Holmstrom if the likely 3rd/4th lines at present dry out.

Given how inconsistent this team was at the end of the reg. season, I predicted Nashville. Yes, injuries and trying to get back in a groove with the roster getting back to normal somewhat affected that. Even after the game 1 loss, I was encouraged. Not going to say a definite series win but if they continue to bring the effort that they brought that game, and last one obviously, I like their odds. As long as they bring the effort and don't look like they are getting outworked, that's pretty much all I ask for. It's always disappointing whenever a loss occurs but if they bust their tails off doing so, it's a bit easier for me to take.

Pretty much on the fence with Cleary as well, speaking strictly of his health/lack thereof and how in general people will play with a broken leg in the playoffs. I think he should be on a short leash though. Not because I don't think he is capable, but again solely because of health and guys like Conner and Mursak hopefully providing some speed/energy, even if it doesn't affect the stat sheet much. Given who created the topic though and his frequency of posting about this topic in an irritating way, it makes this thread pretty aggravating as well.

Only about an 8-hour drive/short flight from where I am from, but given that I already have plans to go on a brief trip, possibly two, in the Fall along with some home improvement repairs I have to spend money on soon, no planned playoff travel for me. Been to Nashville once though for a game, good times, wish I could've spent more time in the city other than just 2 1/2 days.

No beard for me, sorry. I can grow facial hair faster than a gorilla, but I just don't like it, itches. If I don't shave for 3-4 days I get close to having a decent grown out beard already. I used to grow goatees off and on but I probably haven't grown one of those for over a year now. *party ruiner* I applaud you all for putting up with the pain and itching and scratching.

Pretty much it. I'm the last thing from being a person that goes ZOMG PLAYER ABC sucks and ZOMG PLAYER XYZ is worthless or just obsessively hates players or panics like the sky is falling and I'm going to kill myself and this team is beyond repair. That's beyond aggravating like the poster below you said. However the holier than thou people aggravate me just as much if you can't be even a shred of negative in a realistic way like you said. Can the Wings advance this series? Yes they can. Do I think they will? No. Do I want them to prove me wrong? Without question. Does any of this above make me any less of a fan? No, and nobody better suggest to me otherwise because I don't want to hear it and you are likely going to be full of b.s. I'm going to watch every game rooting for them to pull through hoping that I am incorrect. And if I'm not, am I going to come on here and tell people I told you so? Absolutely not, that's not my style and it's pretty much acting like an a**hole there. Hopefully the holier than thou cheerleaders on here will do the same if they win and advance - keeping their mouths shut and getting over any ego they might have.

Pretty much how I feel as well. I just don't see it right now with their inconsistency at present. Would love the Wings to prove me wrong obviously and I'm going to watch every game hoping they win. DISCLAIMER...I'm not saying or going to say so and so sucks, this team is f'ed beyond repair in an angry doomsday scenario. That's not my style. If the above isn't good enough for some of you or I'm not a real fan because of the above, well I'm not really all that sorry and you can kiss my a** for all I care.
