Sometimes ideas or concepts, take something that somebody originally had, and put your own spin on it or try to make it work a bit differently. Happens in business and work all the time. It's better than them doing nothing and it's not worth getting feelings hurt that they might do this.

In the end is it really going to matter how the idea developed? Nobody is really going to care how it happened in the grand scheme of things. The only people that are going to get in a tizzy about this are die-hard fans. Not worth getting all worked up about.

Gotcha, that's cool. They got to start somewhere though, whether in the grand scheme of things or ideas don't work out in the end. When you start from pretty much scratch, there are very rarely any bad ideas. And some of your best money makers or ideas is just simply doing something similar that another person/group does, and just slightly altering it to whom you are trying to promote to. Nothing wrong with that. I know it's hate Phoenix for the next 2 weeks but I'm all for fan bases trying to have fun and encourage participation as long as they do it without being degrading or hurting people or whatever. Don't see a problem in them doing this.

Good for Phil. Always like him. Good for Tiger for coming back strong, and media pretty much avoiding the personal crap in his lives during the tournament and just focusing on golf. What he did personally obviously was wrong, but if he and his wife can reconcile and be even more committed to each other, and he can play golf strongly again like he's accustomed to, more power to him.

Meh, all teams in any sport, in any level, are going to have their a'hole fans. I wouldn't take what this fan had composed with any seriousness and I'd just point and laugh at him.

Why? Just because Detroit is an Original Six franchise with "history" and "tradition" doesn't mean other teams, or new teams, can't have their own deals as well? We have to dump on them for trying to develop their own traditions or ideas? Let them have their fun. If it encourages fan participation and doesn't hurt anybody, let the idea go forward.

I can't do it. I can grow facial hair absurdly fast, I can probably get a good beard in 3-4 days, but I can't stand the itching and scratching at it. Every time I grow a goatee I get too impatient and shave it off after a week usually. No facial hair for me.

While the Wings have gotten their fair share of calls against them, they've gotten a fair amount of breaks this year, at least more towards the latter part of the season. It's not so much the referees, but the interpretation of ridiculous rules like phantom interference or intent to blow the whistle. It's impossible not to be an idiot when stuff like this comes up because it isn't a clearly black and white rule. The Red Wings have certainly gotten shafted a few times here and there, but they certainly aren't the only team. I'd lower the paranoid level.

I was in Phoenix right at the beginning of this year for other stuff but lucked out when the Wings played the Coyotes the first weekend of the new year. There were a fair amount of Wings fans there, probably at least 20-25% of the arena was filled with Wings fans. Coyote fans were just as into it as well. Game was sold out. Hopefully Coyote fans bring some crowds again for the postseason.

At present time, that's what I think is ideal. Enough speed on that line which hopefully leads to good forechecking and turnovers for the other team. If Williams was producing more then I might say different, but that's not the case right now. I understand his roles and won't throw a hissy fit if he's still in the lineup, but he's just bone dry or snakebitten or whatever.

Ottawa did it in the mid/late 90s with Damian Rhodes and Ron Tugnutt with moderate success (I don't know if that's what the poster above me was referencing with the coach there).
