I wouldn't sweat it too much. Fans of every team will have bias of some kind but I think people will give Howard his fair share of credit so far (so far being the key words). It's all but certain I think that he will be the started in the playoffs, assuming the Wings get in, so I tihnk it's more of questioning will he be reliable or capable to handle the pressure in the postseason given that he hasn't done it before in the NHL yet. Is he perfectly capable of doing so? Of course. Is it natural to question this given he is a rookie? Of course, and it's pretty legitimate/fair to I think given the circumstances of Howard.

You have no idea who you are dealing with here (in terms of Carman's attention whoring and trolling, not Frozen-Man). He brings any backlash towards him amongst himself and pretty much all of it is warranted, he doesn't know when to stop. And to the original poster, I can understand disliking teams and the like as it is natural, but your disliking goes to hatred and obsessive. The kind of hatred that I'd be afraid to be associated with if I was a friend of yours when quite frankly I don't feel that there is much of a hatred of the Washington Capitals in general from a majority of fans, if at all. Fans and team are not always necessarily mutually exclusive. And, you can simply not watch Capital games on TV or go to them live. Easy solution.

Yep. No need to turn this into HOward vs. Osgood, or Osgood is getting his feelings hurt, etc. While it definitely has been great, it'll be an endless debate on if the goaltending is the best it has ever been since Babcock has been here. Despite how good it has been right now, like this year there will be big question marks about goaltending just like every other year Babcock has been here. 2005-06 - Can Legace handle being the starter for the first time ever in the playoffs full time (he did start a few games before being yanked for Joseph in 2004). 2006-07 - Can Hasek resemble somewhat the goalie he was in the past despite his age? 2007-08 - See above, and should Hasek be starting instead of Osgood who went to the all-star game? 2008-09 - Can Osgood regain his postseason form from last year's playoffs when he stepped in so admirably? 2009-10, assuming the Wings get in the playoffs - Can a rookie handle being the starter for the first time ever in the playoffs (as it is probably assumed now that Howard will start in the postseason)?

Ugh. Why... I think as many teams as possible should get the chance to play before you repeat. There are lots of alternatives than Pittsburgh right now, who already played in a game. If we are keeping this to a U.S. theme... New York Rangers/Islanders - Yankee Stadium New Jersey Devils - Rutgers Unviersity football stadium (both in East Rutherford) Minnesota - Minnesota University football stadium (they no longer play in the Metrodome, have a fine on-campus facility in Minneapolis area for football to call their own for 2 years now) Washington - Stadium where the Redskins play Denver - Mile High Stadium or Coors Field St. Louis - Stadium where the Cardinals play (Rams play in a dome) Carolina - Stadium where the Panthers play Nashville - Stadium where the Titans play I eliminated teams and venues that have already been involved in the Winter Classic, and did not include any of the California teams, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, or the FLorida teams due to climate.

Isn't an excuse to slack off obviously, but seeding matters very little IMO unless you are in the top-4 to have home ice advantage. Wings probably won't be able to get into 4th place, so the most important thing is finishing about the 9th place team. And that's becoming more and more of a reality everyday if the Wings keep winning or Calgary keeps shooting itself in the foot.

I will assume you are being sarcastic. And even if you aren't, I probably don't even want to know why yo think this way.
