Not this.... But this.... This was as good a game I think we've seen Howard play. And losing compusure my rear end indeed. What the hell else are you supposed to do when one of your star players is getting whacked at unnecessarily a foot away from you and the play has been blown dead? And nobody better come back at me with bulls**t that I'm jealous of Crosby or hate too much. I respect his game and his talent, he's one of the best in the game today. I cannot stand his questionable attitude off the ice or on dead whistles or when he pulls crap like this at the end whining and throwing a fit when things don't go his way. I understand frustration, but whacking a guy over and over again like that? Seriously, play with some self control. That's not sending a message, especially when this isn't the playoffs or a playoff series or the like. I'm not jealous of Crosby's game because I know I'm not going to be a professional athlete anytime soon, and I'm certainly not jealous of him when he acts like he did at the end of the game. Players ebb and flow all the time, hopefully Bertuzzi won't hit a cold streak soon because these past few games (minus the brainfart turnovers in the Vancouver overtimes) he's been as good as could be asked for without contributing a lot of goals/points. Started looking better before his goal in Vancouver. Going to the net a bit more, creating space, finally starting to shoot a bit more again, etc.

I love Osgood, but this isn't the past 2 seasons. This is THIS season. While everybody is going to have varying degrees of how they think he has played overall this season good and bad, I personally think he hasn't been that bad either despite what a recent poster The Secret has said, but that's not the point. The fact is Jimmy Howard had an opportunity to get more starts in when Osgood got down with the flu. He took that opportunity and ran with it pretty well. Could Osgood have gotten a start or two more down the road? Sure, but he certainly hasn't fully helped his cause in the limited time he has been in, the Wings were ridiculously injured, the Wings don't have the luxury of shifting between goalies and already having secured a playoff spot, and Howard has done very little or nothing to show that he's lost the #1 job and shown nothing to suggest that he is wearing out. You hate to lose your job to somebody else because you were injured or sick and I certainly feel for Osgood, but this isn't the first time it has happened in sports, regardless of the sport or level of competition. The Wings and Babcock do not have time to stroke Osgood's ego, be nice, or fair to him or give him starts to see if he plays more consistent when they are fighting for every point possible and Howard playing so well and not showing signs of mentally or physically wearing out. If it's not broke presently, no need to fix it.

While the gung ho spirit is all nice and shiny here, probably very few or none of owners and players are probably going to take much heart to what goes on in a sports fan forum. Very few people, if any, are probably not going to write to owners or take a stand or whatever. This is more of a place to discuss hockey/sport or vent or be illogical or biased at times, so telling somebody off like you did probably isn't all that effective either.

Much better than what I'm presently going to type. Crosby smells. That's the best I can do at 6:30am. *shrugs*

Still have a decent amount of time to turn it around, but this is all to common for them unfortuantely. Your gonna have both some highs and lows in terms of streaks in such a lengthy season in any sport no matter how good or bad your team is so I won't be shocked if or when they turn it around, but we all know the song and dance of them bowing out earlier than expected recently. Won't be shocked if that happens either.

Explain... Overall Lilja's been fine since coming back. Not great but far from terrible.

Ding ding ding. This place just like every other has it's fair share of morons and biased posters towards the Red Wings, as well as well-rounded and smart posters. Probably the same with any other sports forum around in all likelihood.

Even though the Wings have stunk at them overall this year, in general I still like shootouts and I think they have their place in the regular season. Get rid of the dinky automatic point you get for going into overtime even if you lose. 3 points for a win in regulation 2 points for a win in overtime 1 point for a win in a shootout 0 points for a loss at any point in a game, no questions asked, no ifs/ands/buts That solves your parity problem and truly rewards good teams for taking care of business as much and as early as possible, and also teams who do decent in overtime and the like.

Bertuzzi is still a sad panda for seeing this thread. And pretty much everybody has a point on both sides. For a minimal salary, he's produced overall even though it's been of the maddingly inconsistent variety. Finally broke out of his slump last night, but he can make your heart skip beats sometimes with ???? passes, twice in overtime last night. You take the good with the bad.
