So much this. Every time I see D-men just pick Dats up and throw him down and get no whistle, I get infuriated thinking that Kane just skates around with nobody touching him. I assume its because the refs will blow whistle if anyone so much as touches the US Golden Boy, but Dats hasn't gotten a holding penalty in ages and all they do to him is clutch and grab him anywhere on the ice. And they have been starting to check him right in the chest and knock him down (he's old and can't dodge as well) and that is perfectly ok too, even when the puck is like 10 feet away. Anyway, I digress. Edzo on the CSN broadcast last night called the St. Louis goal in Game 1 that went off the Hawk's player into the net a "lucky" bounce. Then Shaw last night, he says he got a "fortunate" bounce. LOL, I suppose they sorta mean the same thing, but the delivery sure doesn't make them sound similar. The neutrality is NOT strong in this one.

Although they did outplay the Bolts last night, they are still bad at passing and bad at shooting. Teams with those two attributes aren't going to win many playoff games.

Why does this guy's line have to tear the Wings up every year? (well, last year and this one... but I am sure its becoming a trend, just like Ben Bishop becoming the greatest goalie in the history of Hockey when he faces Detroit.).

I'd like to have some players on the team who don't look surprised every time a rebound comes off to them on the far side of an open net. They can't even get a stick on the puck to even get a bad shot, it skips right past them with a giant half of an open net staring at them.

Callers in Chicago were clueless today saying Saad asking for too much instead of giving hometown discount now has to play with bad players. SMH. Johannsen, Foligno, Hartnell? Trash players according to the Hawks super fans.

Sharp probably hit that this year which caused their locker room fight and his almost assured exodus from the team this summer (plus he is older and sucks).

I still asterisk the shortened season. West didn't play a single East team during the regular season. Althought weren't people claiming West was better than East in those years? Still, playoff seeds may have been different. Plus, seeing a team during regular season has to have some advantage before you meet them in the Finals? Or maybe not, and I am full of gas.

If the Hawks fail to win another cup in 6 years... does that make the Wing's dynasty tops again?

Not sure anyone really knows in Bishop. One night diarrhea or something then be can't stand well? Maybe a groin thing? Johnson is just speculation. Well, also the story is that Yzerman built a Hawks clone. And the Bolts are like the Hawks from 5 or 6 years ago. Yep, because the Hawks weren't built to mimic the Wings, and, you know, Steve might just have a little connection to that franchise. I'll just go in the corner and puke. Oh, sorry, GoWings... I quoted part of your post just the coaching part that I had different opinion on. The other parts were just referring to others in the thread. Chicago is abuzz, and rightfully so, today. But, their lack of humility on the radio and from fans is a bit sickening. They pretty much think its going to end tonight. Talking about how they haven't clinched the cup on home ice since like the 1940's. They think the script is going just as they planned, typical lackadaisical Hawks pitter-pattering early in series and then buckling down in the meaningful games. Would just love for them to get knocked down a a peg or two (the fans and radio, not the players, they are calm and respectful as usual, damn Captain Serious and doing everything right ).

I will give Hawks their credit. But, well-coached isn't throwing dart boards at line changes and if they work out taking all the credit. This is the same coach that benched Teraveinen and Vermette for Versteeg and Joakim Norstrom against Ducks in game 3 and lost. He also messed with the lines in game 3 or 4 (can't remember which) in Chicago and the new linemates were smashing into each other and falling down on the ice (Versteeg) to try and get Kane more speed on his line. Forum posters are just as good at jumbling lines and hoping for the best before games... just read some of the complaint threads on this board. And yes, before someone calls me out for not liking Q (like you felt the need to do against chicagooverrated), you are right. I think Q is in a lucky situation and before that was just a regular good coach. Not a super coach like everyone makes him out to be.

Yeah, and that is how lazy NBC coverage is... maybe now it doesn't matter but leading up to series if you want to make some story lines or drama, why not bring this play up?

I guess my final thought. I thought the no jerseys thing was blown out of proportion and that TB media guy's article seems to back it up that its only a few sections. The media jumped on the nazi like rules in those sections and to get traffic made bold claims that it was the whole arena. I feel the Army Captain story is separate issue and a bad PR/Customer Service nightmare (that they fixed or backtracked on) and the only reason it became even worse of a story was because of the attention the no jersey thing was getting... if that wasn't going on, it would have been a small blurb story (and maybe it gets fixed with less attention, maybe not...) I don't want to fight with any more of my Wing's peeps about stupid crap in other cities.
