    In combination with just how weird this signing is to me in general, Kenny's comments about "We're stepping out of our comfort zone" definitely worry me a little; just the fact that he actually said that publicly. When I heard that for some reason I pictured a GM who was one or two chess moves behind the others instead of ahead or at least on a level playing field.

    I don't quite get why the rumors imply that Parise is trying to lure Suter away from DET and join him in Minnesota/Pittsburgh/Wherever. Why wouldn't he want to play with Suter here in DET as well as Datsyuk, Zetterberg, etc.? Money? Does he absolutely have to wear the #9 on his jersey? Or maybe he hates Babs already?

    He didn't play any games though on the main roster that year. It remains to be seen but I'm pretty Jocke Andersson will play a good amount of games for the Wings this year.

    Ah yes. Hmm. So I guess 2008-2009 was the ultimate height of Swedes. Although maybe I shouldn't have counted Ericsson for the year 2008-2009. Or if I count Ericsson for that year then I can probably count Joakim Andersson for this year. In that case it's still a tie.

    So how many Swedes will be on the main roster next year? Zetterberg Franzen Nyquist Kronwall Ericsson And now Samuelsson and Gustavsson. Tied for most Swedes ever on a Wings roster? I think so. In 2008-2009 it was at its highest I believe. Lidstrom Kronwall Ericsson Zetterberg Franzen Samuelsson Holmstrom

    The comments from Calgary's GM about Hudler were like a flashback to me back when Toronto signed Brett Lebda. I remember emphasis on his versatility, speed and veteran leadership because he has a ring. Yet mostly everyone on here was laughing or celebrating. Although I suppose I shouldn't knock Brett Lebda too much or else next thing we know Kenny's going to bring him back to the D and say over and over again how the Wings live in a "salary cap era."
