People not wanting us to overpay for free agents is dumb. The way the market it is, you will never be able to sign a guy below market value. So the Wings either overpay for someone they think fits or they will never sign a big name free agent again.

Mantha has the skill, he just came off a major injury in a league that is more difficult than he has ever seen before. He just has some confidence issues. The skill is there. If he gets in a full training camp and season and still is underperforming at the end of next season then I'll hit the panic button. I think he is gonna have a bounce back season however. -
I see it too. Although I live in the city that the real Edmonton Oilers farm team is. It's in California now.

If Holland trades Mantha or a 1st in a package for Phaneuf who will be a 3rd or 4th defenseman then he should be fired immediately. A top pair d-man ok maybe. But im not throwing in the towel on mantha yet and the Wings shouldn't either. -

That's actually not a bad price for Petry. The salary cap is going to go up again this year so people need to get over the numbers because every year they will go up. They aren't going to magically decline next year. The longer we wait to fill our needs the higher the market will get. We used to think Kronwall was way over priced and now look at his contract. A freaking steal. -
Yea I mean if that loser can't get them past the conference finals....lol. can you imagine if Mrazek didn't get a chance this year like he did and was still down. They would have won the 'ship for sure.

I have high hopes for Larkin but to think he is going to make the Wings squad next year is ludacris. He needs to adjust to the AHL for a full season or two. It will be interesting however how he fares against the toughest competition of the AHL off the bat! -

It's Blashill. I'd bet the farm on it. It's the reason the Wings were comfortable not offering a max offer to Babcock. They have confidence that Blashill can be the guy or babcock would still be here. -
