Bob McKenzie said on his podcast Zadina might slip out of the top 5. But mainly because C and D prospects have really stepped it up and because of team needs in the top 5. -

I’m excited because no matter what I think we get an impact player. The top 10 is pretty stacked this year. Last year’s draft I think will end up a crap shoot, although i think Rasmussen will be a win for us. But I think either way we grab someone who helps this team. The anticipation is killing me though lol. -

Yea I’d prolly do that trade as well. I’m extremely high on Zadina personally. I see him as a 40 goal scorer one day. Of course that’s my opinion but every post on here is opinion lol. And AA being traded wouldn’t be the worst thing. I don’t like his work ethic. He tends to float at times and rely on his speed. -

I don’t see it costing a ton at all. Montreal wants their C and doesn’t want to waste the 3rd on him. I think giving them the 6th and our 30th for 3rd would be more than adequate. They get their man and an extra pick and we get a potential super star. -

I agree we def need to add size to our D but we also need to add a bonifide puck moving defenseman who has speed and can jump into the rush and make things happen. So I’m ok with Hughes or Bouchard because they both fill a need. This team lacks a true stay at home shut down defenseman, puck moving defenseman, and a pure sniper. So if we get any one of Hughes, Bouchard, or trade up for Zadina I’ll be stoked. -

Never been so amped for a draft. And the closer we get, the less confident I am on who are pick will be. Really hope that we trade a 2nd rounder and our 30th and move up somewhere in the first round. Our success with 2nd rounders hasn’t been great and with all the ammo we have there isn’t much stopping us from moving up and grabbing someone we love. -
Pretty sure Nielsen has a no movement clause but could be wrong. And I wouldn’t mind getting rid of Abby’s 4 Mill until 2023. If it cost us something like a 3rd round pick and it opened a roster spot for one of our young guys I’d say it’s worth it.

I wonder if it would be worth giving up a decent pick to shed either Helm, Abby, or Nielsen’s contract when the next expansion draft happens.

I agree Zadina doesn’t necessarily fill a positional need but he does fill a team need of a pure goal scoring sniper. I truly believe he will be a super star player. So I def don’t mind giving up #30 to get him. -

I didn’t say we should or shouldn’t. Was just giving guys data for their arguments. The only real impact player on the list (so far) is Tatar. And even he had his obvious short comings. If we have a guy we are really sure on I don’t mind trading up. I don’t mind giving up 6 and 30 to get Zadina either.
