I would love Cody Franson simply because I think he would cost us the least and he is still a decent player. If we were still in the West I think it would be a done deal but hard to trade with people in your own division. -

Thankfully Holland will have no input in building the arena or it would come out looking like a pizza hut.Im not thrilled about this because 2 years ago i was married on the ice in Joe Louis. Its going to be sad if they tear it down and we cant go back to where we were married. -

As far as picks go, I could see Holland offering a conditional 4th round pick that would turn into a 2nd round pick if Green re-signs with us.

It looks like these contracts will be the norm in the next couple of seasons with the cap raising. Makes a guy like Franzen "although he floats" extremely reasonably priced. -
Agreed. Real Wings fans would gladly give up "the streak" to be actual contenders in a couple years.

I wouldn't say getting Alfie and Weiss didn't help us last year. Tough to tell when our entire top 6 forwards were hurt at one point of the season or another and many for long stretches.

A lot of people like Tatar over Jurco because he has already shown he is capable of being a good player whereas Jurco projects to be a good player. A lot of people live in the here and now. I think it would be incredibly stupid if Holland got rid of either one.

If Holland is able to trade for Green with Ferraro being the centerpiece and some draft picks I will renounce my will for him to be fired.

Well he would have to waive his NTC to come here so if we did make the trade he would, at least on some level, want to be a wing. I think it would be very likely he would re-sign with us after one year. Detroit may not be the top destination for UFA's any more but we def don't have problems keeping guys here once they play here.

He can't be much worse then some of the guys we have playing defense and he brings offensive skills to the table that our team simply doesn't have. Our powerplay would be drastically better with Green

Yea I see Kindl as more of a burden when trading. Like "please take this contract off our hands and we will give you more value". If Ken Holland is really the top GM that he thinks he is, he will get Green without giving up Jurco/Nyquist/Mantha/Tatar.

Yea he has two 70+ point campaigns under his belt and a 31 goal season. Show me another defenseman that has those numbers that are available.
