Update from previous story: Holland still reportedly at Bell Tire kicking tires. The manager asked him to leave but he just continues to make grunting noises as he kicks. The police were called and Dan Cleary posted his bail. Dan was adamant that Holland be let go because "Holland promised me a top 6 forward spot next season". Holland is finally home and resting comfortably, ready to continue his summer vacation.

This is why nothing will ever change. Good GM's change with the times. Holland always uses excuses that it's not his fault, in any capacity, for what happened today.

It's because ever since the Salary Cap, Holland has consistently either been afraid to pull the trigger on the top free agents, or been unable to land the top free agents and create a franchise that players want to play for. Sure he has had to deal with losing some of the greats (aka Lidstrom) but he has been content with keeping this team a competitive first round team while our super star players continue to age. He is a GM that was spoiled early in his tenure when everyone wanted to come here and take a pay cut pre-salary cap and now does not know how to handle when the big fish no longer want the lure.

I'm ok with that. Not worth our second in a very good draft year.

I get what your saying but unfortunately teams have gotten better around us and we have stayed pat so I think that's why people are freaking out. To quote Tommy Boy "Youre either growing, or you're dying. There ain't no 3rd direction".

Dude I had this terrible dream that it was July 1st and nobody wanted to sign in Detroit so we resigned Kyle Quincey and gave him a raise. Lol could you imagine?
