I have to imagine that if Myers is traded for this has to be true. Holland is not going to give up picks and prospects when he can sign a guy for free. Niskanen would have to tell us no chance before holland trades. He isn't stupid. -

Agreed. His first two seasons buffalo was a competitive team. Since then the team tanked and he went with them. -

Vancouver traded the 3rd round pick they just got in the Kesler deal for Derek Dorsett -
I think we could have gotten Kesler to come here but I can just about guarantee they would have wanted Tatar or Nyquist plus others. Holland probably sees those two as not having the same dynamic as Kesler but I believe both are capable of putting up similar numbers as Kesler.

I guess if you hate really nice neighborhoods, schools, awesome beaches, and yearly 70 degree temperatures then yea it would suck to live in Anaheim.

I will give Holland this....he has got to be one hell of a poker player. He never shows his hand and is prolly the most coy GM out there.

I completely agree. Living in California myself, Anaheim is really a top notch place to live. Still interesting they opted to trade him within their division.

I would agree if the ducks gave them their 10th overall pick. But they somehow got away with giving their 24th in a weak draft. Anaheim won.

I'm ok with him not trading our core. I'm not ok with him making an lazy effort to sign top free agents that are available. I know he has met with some free agents but we will never know how aggressively he is going for them.

It's interesting, every time i read quotes from Holland I sink deeper and deeper into a state of depression.

So many rumors I don't know what to believe. I also heard that Chicago was trying to trade the panthers sharp and others for the 1st pick which will free up cap room to then make a trade for Kesler.

I agree that was a "safe bet post" by Eklund. That's like me saying there are some free agents ready to sign with other teams but they are going to wait till July 1st to announce it. -
Yea I'm hoping that what Niskanen is asking for isn't far off from what Boyle is asking which is why they are switching their focus.

Good! I don't think Boyle is the solution and he prolly wants 3 years. Despite people's arguments, I think Niskanen will be good for a long time.

My point is that with the top notch reporting today, there haven't been any reports by any major news source that suggests Holland is even kicking the tires on Kesler. I think it's extremely unlikely unless Holland comes in with a strong last minute offer. -

I think if Holland wanted to get Kesler he could def make it happen. I'm sure Kesler wouldn't mind coming home. We have assets that could get the trade done. Him actually doing it is a different story. Where there is smoke there is fire and not a lot smoke coming from Detroit. We would have heard about it by now.
