I believe so. That is also the reason Weiss couldn't be bought out. He probably would have been the guy axed if he were signed prior. -
I would be very happy with Campbell assuming that Florida eats up some of his salary which I don't see why they wouldn't anyways. They are always fighting to get to the cap floor. Trade one of our D prospects, and a draft pick or two.

All these people saying we don't need Boyle because that won't win us a cup are like a broken record. Does adding Boyle guarantee us a cup? Obviously no. But what player is really out there that could do that? We have to start somewhere to fill our needs and I think he fills two of this teams needs immediately. Right handed shot....puck moving defenseman. End of story. -

I would assuming he shows interest in signing here. We need a defenseman who can make that first pass out of the defensive zone and Boyle is certainly capable of that. Prices will go up for players if we wait to sign a Niskanen. I'd rather get a guy signed prior to July 1st. -

Don't you guys get it? Mrazek is ripe.....but not over-ripe. He may be ready to play in the NHL but he needs to be over-ready to play in the NHL or something....my head hurts. -
Ales Hemsky's rights are being shopped by Ottawa now that he rejected a 3 year 10 million dollar deal per Lebrun.

Richards is not what we need. He is more of a set-up man. He averages about 20 some goals a season. We need a sniping winger to put with Datsyuk.

Most likely because with the Panthers, prospects are thrust into starting roles before they understand the game and make mistakes, lose confidence and eventually fade out. One of the reasons we are so successful is because our prospects are prepared and confident when they finally get starting roles.

I can as well. It's actually a fair trade straight up and it solves both their problems. That being said I hope it doesn't happen because I would love either player.

I've been to about 5 games and play in a hockey league with a ton of kings fans and they all have been the same. They act like that one Championship makes them the greatest franchise ever. -

Man I hate the Kings. Coming from a Wings fan that relocated to California, Kings fans are some of the biggest ******** in the NHL. I've been to many away arenas in the NHL and I've never had as many problems as I have at the Staples Center. All I have heard about for 2 years is their last Stanley Cup and they won't let anyone forget this Stanley Cup either. -
I think Smith will have a similar path that Ericsson had. Early in Ericsson's career he had flashes of brilliance laced with terrible defensive mistakes. He eventually learned the game and is now a solid defenseman. I think Smith has a bigger learning curve then we would like but I think the talent and potential is there. Give him one more full season and I don't think we will be discussing trading him.

Just like half of the Wings team. I think he is worth the risk. A winger with a great shot and a proven goal scorer with every team he has been on. Gaborik with Datsyuk would be salivating.
