Knuckles vs Numbers - The death of the enforcer

I once saw the Grim Reaper riding a Harley Davidson at Daytona Bike Week. He had a tattoo of Brian McGrattan.

Knuckles vs Numbers - The death of the enforcer

I once saw Brian McGrattan eat a wheel of aged cheddar cheese, before dancing vigorously to the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow". He dared me to laugh.

Knuckles vs Numbers - The death of the enforcer

Smelling salts sniff Brian McGrattan when they get knocked out.

Knuckles vs Numbers - The death of the enforcer

McGrattan can fart the complete unabridged works of Maya Angelou.

McGrattan once scissor kicked Angela Lansbury.

    Oilers win the Draft Lottery

I think "janitor" would be appropriate.

Knuckles vs Numbers - The death of the enforcer

Brian McGrattan once date raped Karl Malone on a dare.
  8. He's like 1,000 years old. He'll never be 100% again.

Knuckles vs Numbers - The death of the enforcer

McGrattan has become the Bill Brasky of LGW. And in that mythic space, I actually really like his presence. "Brian McGrattan taught me how to love a woman...and scold a child". "Did I ever tell you about the time I went horseback riding with McGrattan, but there weren't any horses around? Well, McGrattan throws a saddle on my back and rides me around Wyoming for three days. Well, wouldn't you know it, my stamina increases with each day and I develop tremendous leg muscles. So anyway, McGrattan decides to enter me in the Breeders' Cup, right, under the name Turkish Delight. And I'm running in second place, and I'm running and I break my ankle! They’re about to shoot me. Then someone from the crowd yells out, God bless him, 'Don't shoot him, he's a human."

    Oilers win the Draft Lottery

Aaaaand Keven Lowe fired as President of Hockey Operations... But retained "on the business side" of the organization. They just don't know how to quit each other.
  11. I testify that there is no hockey God except the one true hockey God, and Katie Strang is his prophet.
  12. I mean, obviously Tigers' tickets would be better, but it'll have to do. Scherzer is pitching for the Nats, so it's a little like watching the Tigers. Except that I now think Max Scherzer is a douchebag.
  13. Just got free tickets to the Nats and Cardinals at 4 p.m. Gives me just enough time to get to the bar afterward for the Wings. Today is going to rule.

    Datsyuk Finalist for Lady Byng

They couldn't give him ALL the trophies. They should have, but they couldn't. The awards shot would totally suck.

    Franzen on IR

What the heck happened here? Pm anyone?
  16. Well, I don't know that I like Dan Carcillo, but it does help to be reminded that these guys are actual human beings once in a while. The league really needs to figure out a serious approach to reducing head injuries. I think the issue has reached critical mass. At this point it's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when". So why continue to pussyfoot around it?

Chara was playing on fractured ankle

He has excellent form and everything. I just don't know how it happened.

WCQF : (4) Nashville Predators vs. (5) Chicago Ham Hocks

This has got to be a real heartbreaker for Nashville. They've played really solidly in this series and just can't put the Blackhawks away. Any other team in the West and they're probably walking away with this series right about now.

Chara was playing on fractured ankle

I didn't think you could break your ankle diving. The more you know!
  20. I don't see Howard getting moved. One, because nobody really needs a goalie of Howard's caliber all that bad. Two, Ken Holland (and Mike Babcock's) M.O. is to keep guys around for "competition". Remember two years ago when we had more players than roster spots and cap money? That would have been an ideal time to waive/trade someone and it didn't happen. As long as Mrazek is cheap (and he will be for a little while), they'll keep Jimbo around.

ECQF : (5) New York Islanders vs. (4) Washington Capitals

Dirty or not? I say no. I also really like Tom Wilson.
  22. Excellent game tonight. And a big atta boy to Brendan smith. He played a really solid game. More of those and he'll get no complaints from me.
  23. They usually announce the Wings' updates over the loudspeaker at the ballpark. It's always fun to hear them announce a goal and the baseball fans go crazy.
  24. I agree. I don't think we can compete with them no matter how we arrange the lines. But I do think that you can arrange players in order to maximize your potential, even if the ceiling on that potential isn't as high as another team. Babcock's job is to make the Red Wing be as good as they can possibly be. If that's still not good enough to beat Tampa, so be it. But if we're not the best "us" that we can be, then he's doing something wrong. So far, I honestly don't even think he's done a bad job. We had some key injuries, and you had to know that Tampa was coming out strong. Now we're in the adjustment phase. We're very much in this series, but we need to find a way to get guys like Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan involved. I agree they've looked bad. But we know they aren't bad. So whatever the problem is, fix it. That's partially the coach's job. I'm eager to see what he does from here on out.

WCQF : (7) Winnipeg Jets vs. (1) Anaheim Ducks

I think the Jets ARE that good, I just think their goaltending is suspect. Pavelec is like Howard, when he's on he's pretty good, but he's off way too often. He doesn't seem to be able to make the big stops that the team needs so far in his career.
