I agree. I prefer to see career Wings to the extent possible. With Sergei it's about him leaving, but more importantly about WHEN he left. I wouldn't really care if he had a long career in Detroit and then finished out in Russia, or if he bled Red and White and then left at the end for one final shot at the Cup. But he left in his prime. That's a no-go for me if you want to be immortalized at the Joe.

Great player, and integral to the teams resurgence...but I still say his jersey shouldn't be retired. Happy to see him in the Hall though.

Not really sure how holding him accountable for the things he says in public is "being an ass". Any idiot (including me) in the world is allowed their opinion. And I'd certainly not break Malik's balls over his favorite song, or movie. But when it comes to being a journalist, and Malik has argued over and over that he IS a journalist, you have to be accountable for the things you disseminate for public consumption. And that means fact checking your information BEFORE you make it public, not after. He should be thanking me. I'm helping him live up to the standards he aspires too. I'm helping him be a better journalist. I'm making Malik be the best that he can be. He owes me big time. I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that I'm personally responsible for every good thing that happens to George Malik from now on.

Aaaaaaaand Bob McKenzie denies the rumor after three consecutive idiots (Bryan Yates, Clark Rasmussen, and George Malik) ran with the rumor as if it were true. Malik even going as far as to vouch for the credibility of Yakes, who originated the rumor. Cautionary Lesson LGW: Next time you find yourself about to post "Holland didn't land player X because the reported asking price was...," remember, those "reported asking prices" are almost always wrong, inflated, and made up by amateur jackasses (bloggers/podcasters).

A quick perusal of Bob McKenzie's twitter yields no mention of any of this. It's just some podcast dummy making things up. He's also a flagrantly partisan Wings fan. When the guy attributes things to McKenzie elsewhere on his twitter, he links it to McKenzie's actually twitter account. No link this time, despite the attribution. So apparently we're supposed to believe this yayhoo actually spoke to Bob Mckenzie in person, or via phone, and got this information. It's the equivalent of George Malik claiming Bob McKenzie told him some information about a trade. Lol.

I would laugh that offer off the phone...because I'm both.
