Who was the point man on the 2nd PP last night with Kindl out?

I'd inquire about Drew Stafford and Andrew Ladd. Both are guys that would compliment our top six with their playing style and both are rumored to be available. Each is putting together a nice season as well.

Well, presumably our offense will improve if we get a top four puck mover. And hopefully that will improve the powerplay as well. But I think we need to seriously consider an upgrade to the top six if we continue to have these problems with offensive consistency. There just doesn't seem to be enough offensive talent to spread around.

Sure that's true. But don't we have a coach that specifically encourages a low scoring strategy? If you know that it's statistically a less successful way to win games, maybe you shouldn't do everything you can to encourage that result.

If I recall corrently, Mantha looked good with Frk and Nosek in the prospects tourney. Maybe when Nosek gets back from injury Blash will put them back together. Could jump start Frk and make another scoring line out of nothing for the Griffs.

Griffs tie it up with a minute left on a goal by, you guess...Mitch Callahan.

The Sweetwater Tavern has the best chicken wings on this (or any) planet. Hand to God. Their rib tips and beer prices are also quite good. I HIGHLY recommend getting a bite to eat at this place. And that's coming from a guy who unreservedly endorses exactly three other things: Wink Rust Remover, Inglehoffer Stone Ground Mustard, and Five Hour Energy. It's at the corner of Congress and Brush, near the previously mentioned Holiday Inn Express. Edit: Lafayette Coney is an acceptable alternative. But HEAVEN HELP YOU if you eat at American Coney, accidentally or otherwise.

Am I the only one having a hard time deciding which game to watch? The one where Anthony Mantha begins his professional career? Or the one where the Chicago Blackhawks humiliate my favorite team?

Probably. But I'm not touching that.

Literally every single time I've ever heard the guy talk about hockey he's been humble and incredibly gracious. Including his handling of the racial slurs lobbed at him by some Boston fans during last year's playoffs, or Shawn Thornton spraying him with water from the bench. At no point have I ever seen him be "pissy". Even when he should have been. Then again, there's no reason to be "pissy" when you're really good and winning games over your rivals.

I suppose he must have done it, but I never put too much stock in accusations of diving because it's so entirely shaped by how games are covered. I mean, our local crews aren't going to point out instances in which we do it (I've seen Franzen, Smith, and Glendening all dive pretty good so far this year). However, when the other team does it they'll show it 10 times, and Mickey will make a big deal out of it, and we'll all have our attention brought to it. But I'm not convinced that they're doing it any more or less. It's just covered when they do it. I'm sure Montreal's local broadcasters never, ever, show them diving on the home broadcast...and yet we all see it. Same is probably true for us. Though I wouldn't know, because nobody would mention it. Or when they do (Like Edzo with his "subtle interference") we all act like it's sour grapes (though it probably isn't).

I disapprove of all varieties of goofballery. Intensely emotional or otherwise.

Actually I could get on board with that. Except that neither Jurco nor Tatar are great defensively, and I think Babs likes Abby for his shutdown abilities. That said, I also don't think Jurco or Tatar are as bad defensively as they're often made out to be. And their offense w/Dats would surely justify Abby's demotion. p.s. I hate Andersson and wish him the best, as long as he goes away. Give me Mitch Callahan or give me death!

I'm curious to see how this turns out. I don't think these lines are terrible. If they struggle I'd like to see him flip flop Abby with Franzen, but other than that I like the looks of it (in theory).

Afterward he could have bathed in the blood of his vanquished enemy right? It would have been awesome! Nothing cooler than watching Lucic and the B's lose hockey games and kick ass!
