At this point, as long as Holland doesn't start giving away our good young talent, I can still laugh this off. Yes I hate it, yes we're still terrible, yes it's another year down the drain. But at least there's still hope for some nondescript period in the future when things will be good again. I'm really finding the humor it in. But let him trade away one young asset. I'll riot.

Absolutely right. And we're not paying either one of them (Jurco and Tatar), 5.5 million dollars a season while they work on living up to their potential. We're also not giving up good assets to get them either. Their potential costs nothing to nurture. Myers costs a lot of cap space, and some real good assets.

Tatar just score 19 goals as a rookie, and Jurco is a big, skilled, winger the likes of which we've dreamed of in Detroit for years. And you would be willing to move them for a big goober who had a good year and hasn't done s*** since? Barrett Jackman won a Calder too. I wouldn't trade Tatar or Jurco for him, then or now. The only reason people consider it with Myers is because he's big, which might as well be a magic spell in the hockey world. If Myers had all the same stats and accolades, speed and shot, and was 6'1 205, you'd never...ever...trade Tatar or Jurco for him.

Good point. Honestly, at this point I'd let Quincey go, I'd let Alfie go, and I'd fill every available spot with a kid. At least keep the damage to a minimum. Don't make it worse by making panic moves (see: Samuelsson, Legwand, etc.).

At this point why not take a flier on McBain for the third pair and trade Kindl. That, at least, is an improvement. And given his age he could still grow into something better.
