Here you go buddy, it's the gift that keeps on giving. Just get some headphones! http://grooveshark.com

Haha, I was just listening to the Nuge as well. We're on the same page buddy.
-
s*** is getting intense already. I woke up, had a raw egg breakfast, and listened to Motley Crue's "Too Fast For Love" album in it's entirety. Afterward I took a ten minutes period of silence to reflect upon the sacrifice and hardship endured by George Washington and his men at Valley Forge. Most recently I spent time identifying which Western movie heroes were most like Team USA's current stars. David Backes is Rooster Cogburn, and Patrick Kane is Shane. That's as far as I got. America rules! Motley Crue Rules! Rooster Cogburn and Shane Rule! I'm out (for now)! Edit: Blake Wheeler is Jeremiah Johnson.

I'm pretty fond of Bachman-Turner Overdrive...just not tomorrow.
-
Bonus points if you make the relative sizes of Kessel, the eagle, and Crosby all true to scale.
-
Great minds think alike, I did the same thing. Can't wait.
-
Yeah, in some instances they literally tried to murder that guy...but nary a word about how their beloved Cubs (a team I despise with the intensity of a thousand dying suns) couldn't hold a THREE run lead despite a superior lineup and home field advantage.
-
Hold a lead and you don't have to worry about that kind of stuff. This all reminds me of that time the Chicago Cubs blew a three run lead before Steve Bartman touched a foul ball and the Cubs ended up losing. If you don't blow leads, you don't have to worry about this stuff. Bartman was a scapegoat...so are the refs. Again, congrats Team Canada.
-
Why does every loss always have to be about the refs? Isn't it possible that the better team won, despite the fact that the better team wasn't the one you wanted? Congratulations Team Canada.

Only if it's insane to believe that female sports have as much intrinsic value as male sports do, regardless of their popularity.
-
I think the point of confusion here is the original use of the word "matter". The original post said that women's hockey doesn't matter...which is sexist. If he (or you) had said women's hockey is less popular I don't think anyone would object, it would be a factual statement. But to say it doesn't matter is offensive.
-
You've only now finally gotten around to condemning his original sexist post. Something most of us did two pages ago. Kinda hard to take you seriously when you say "it's extremely important" when you've spent all this time condemning me for pointing out his sexism while staying mum on the post that started all of this (until just now). Yep...Exhibit A.
-
Re-read my original post, I clearly stated that I'm at work and not watching the game. Which is why I asked if the guys were there to cheer on the women's teams. I legitimately wanted to know because I can't see it.
-
But you're ok with someone saying that men's hockey is "the one that matters". You've got some pretty mixed up priorities.
-
I'm at work so I can't watch this game, are any of the members of either men's team there to cheer on the women's teams? I think it would be really cool if the guys showed up for a little solidarity.
-
Wow, apparently people are still wildly sexist in Canada. Tell me why men's activities "matter" more than women's again? Someone beat me to it.
-
One would think you'd be a little quicker to pick up on something so tongue-in-cheek given your obvious affinity for snide derision. Having an off day?
-
It's almost like that was the point.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord, he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored, he has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword, his truth is marching on. Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

Official 2014 Olympic Hockey Thread (Admin warning #316)
kipwinger replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
Ok fellas, I called the Canadian fans out yesterday for not being online during their close game and heavily implied that they were "hiding" from criticism until the game turned in their favor. To protect myself from similar criticism I have a few things to announce... 1) I took a half a day off from work tomorrow to watch this game. Because I have no responsibility I will be watching it in a bar and getting drunk (so I won't be on LGW). 2) However, because I took a lead part in hyping this matchup and participated heavily in the trash talk it's only fair that I be here to take my lumps if USA loses. 3) So...in the pursuit of fairness, I will be on LGW the second I get home to be taunted endlessly by you Canadian Scallywags in the event of an unlikely American loss. 4) God help you if/when we win. -
I'm so excited for this game I can't even talk s***. It's on my mind about every ten minutes. Most recently David Backes won the game all by himself...not figuratively, literally. I was literally imagining David Backes playing Canada by himself. Needless to say, pretty pumped.

Made all the more impressive by the fact that the general manager is on the other side of the globe. -
Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Yeah any defense that relies on Smith, Kindl, Quincey, to fill out their second pair will not be "fine". -

One bright spot for Russia was Tarasenko. Kid played good. He's the real deal. -

This is strange, there are hardly any Team Canada fans on the board right now. I wonder why?
