He was one of our better defensemen last night. Made the great read, interception and pass to Mantha that set up the only Wings goal. He was only on the ice for that one goal where Biega gave the puck away behind the net, and he was late (for good reason) getting to his man on the back door. Sending a message is fine, but Cholowski was far from the player that should have received it after last night's game... Green has been awful every game this season. God forf***ingbig we sit a vet...

I agree with pretty much everything here. Regarding the bold, take it for whatever it's worth, but I heard from Cleary himself that there was a lot of animosity toward Babcock from quite a few players in the Red Wings locker room before he left Detroit. A lot of players had enough of his bulls***, and I think we're already starting to see that in Toronto... I think both can be true though. Babcock is a piece of s***, and Commodore sucked a**. But yeah, I totally agree that it is beyond ridiculous that Commodore thinks that Babcock wanted to sign him just to end his career... Get the f*** over yourself dude. You were never good, and it didn't take an a**hole coach for teams to realize this. You were just bought out by a bad Columbus team for f***s sake...

I've heard Commodore going off on Babs many times on different podcasts. He hates his guts, and he's not the only one. I know for a fact that there are quite a few players that have played for Babs over the years that think he's a piece of s***. He's an arrogant, egotistical prick. That part about not allowing Modano to hit 1500 games is f***ed up. I was happy to see him leave Detroit and now most Leafs fans want him out of Toronto as well...

Do you think it's realistic to think a player as talented as Veleno could play 76 games and not produce? It was a dumb thing to say. But you say a lot of dumb things, so whatevs...

Impatient, is all the fans that want all of these prospects up NOW! Patient, is giving them this season to develop, and re-evaluating next season. Of course they need to produce. I think they will, which is why I think they'll be ready a year from now. Funny how you only mentioned Veleno though. Do you think Zadina is more NHL ready because of his one goal? Seider, with his one assist?

... or maybe not... I just finished saying how we need to be patient with these prospects this season, but at the same time, it wouldn't shock me at all if all five are regulars at some point next season... You come flying in with your know-it-all bulls*** about how Veleno needs to produce before he makes the jump to the NHL... Well, no s***! He has a full season to do that, and I'm sure he will. Question for ya... Have you watched any of the three Griffins games so far this season? I've watched all three and Veleno has looked good. The production will come.

Not worth a 2nd round pick...

Erne has been awful, but the likelihood of that trade ever coming back to bight Yzerman in the ass is slim to none. Even if Erne doesn't play another game for the Red Wings, he will likely have played 6 more games than whoever we might have taken with that 4th round pick in next year's draft. I'm sure you'll point to all the 4th round steals, but I'll point to all the 4th round nothings. The odds just aren't there beyond the 2nd/3rd round of the draft. You put way too much value on mid to late round draft picks. Trading a 4th or later for a young, bottom six winger is not a bad trade, even if it's just to plug a hole. My only issue with that trade was, I didn't believe there was a hole there to begin with. I think any number of players in Grand Rapids (Puempel, Kuffner, Turgeon, Pearson, Smith, etc.) could have filled the role Erne currently occupies, likely better...

Why? DeKeyser is a solid top 4 defenseman on any team in the league. He was certainly missed last night...

It's about development for these guys (Svechnikov, Rasmussen, Veleno, Zadina, Seider). Also, Svech is coming off a pretty serious injury causing him to miss a full year of hockey. I'm sure they want to be extra cautious with him. They'll eventually ease him back in. This season is a write off. Let them continue to develop, gain chemistry and build confidence in a winning environment. They'll all likely get a look at some point this season, and be up full time by next season. I know this team is painful to watch right now, but not a single person, including those in the Red Wings organization (Yzerman / Blashill), believe Erne, Ehn, de la Rose, Nielsen or Daley are better than the 5 kids mentioned...

First goal, 30 seconds in is worth a look. Other than that, it was a bit of a snooze fest...
