Sure, let's trade an 18 year old stud for a few good years of Crosby... We're rebuilding. Not even 32 year old Crosby could get this team over the hump right now. Dumb trade. The only players you trade a player like Hughes for "straight up" are the ones that aren't getting moved (McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews, etc). Kypreos and Shannon are morons. Hughes would make any bottom feeder out of camp next season.

Mantha is deeeeep in Blashill's doghouse... Demoted to the 3rd line with Ehn and Vanek, now taken off the power-play... I get that he's had a rough start to the season, but this is ridiculous. Hopefully he can claw his way out, and back on Larkin's wing / top power-play unit where he belongs...

If we end up drafting 2nd overall and there's a significant drop off between the 2nd and 3rd ranked prospects, then sure, take BPA. But if they're relatively close, go with need. I know this team needs to upgrade pretty much every position, but we do have a surplus of left-shot wingers. I'd prefer the big right-shot forward or defenseman over the left-shot winger. I think we're going to win the draft lottery though, so it's a moot point...

I'm one of those people... But I'm okay with adding another left-handed winger if he's "elite" or a "franchise changing" winger. Hughes on Larkin's wing would be unreal. I'm not as worried about our center position, because I believe Larkin / Veleno will be a very solid 1-2 punch down the middle.

No idea. I've never seen him play a minute live, only highlights. I'm a big fan of Seth Barton. Reminds me a lot of Cholowski. Good to see Regula putting up some points too. As for next year's draft, I'm still team Cozens (if we don't win the lottery), but Dach seems to be off to a hot start as well. The one player I don't want to draft, admittedly for a dumb reason, is Kaapo Kakko. The last thing this team needs is another left-handed winger... This is of course who we will draft...

Yeah, definitely not a great start, but keep in mind, he's only 18 years old, playing in arguably the 2nd or 3rd best league in the world. Much higher competition than even the AHL. He'd probably be a point per game (or better) player in the CHL, and close to that in NCAA. The Swedish Elite League is a very strong league.

The players that you think "suck" don't actually "suck", they're just overpaid and / or over used by the coach. People act as if we have a bunch of players that no team in the league would want, which isn't the case. Most teams wouldn't want a handful of players on this team, not because they "suck", but because they're on "bad" contracts. Ericsson doesn't "suck". He's a very good bottom pairing defenseman, being paid more like a middle pair defenseman. Abdelkader doesn't "suck". He's a good bottom six defenseman, being slightly overpaid and over utilized by Blashill. Howard doesn't "suck" and is paid fairly. etc, etc...
