I know right? Opponents fear the LCA!
-
I really hope Frk gets a legit shot. I still say he can be a solid 3rd line winger, power-play specialist.
-
Frk has been playing very well, even before the goal. I also agree on Booth. I'd like to see him on the 4th line over Witkowski with Bertuzzi starting on IR.
-
I don't think so. Booth played the last two games. One of which (last game) he was a last minute sub in for Parenteau, who wasn't able to go. It's understandable that Booth doesn't play a 3rd consecutive game. I've been much more impressed with Booth in his two games than Parenteau in his one game though.

I hope you're right on the first part. As for the second part, of course he could be a serviceable top pair with the right partner. Most NHL defensemen could. Ian White looked good next to Lidstrom. Marc Methot looked good next to Karlsson. As of right now, I see DeKeyser as a solid 2nd pair defenseman, that can play limited minutes on the top pair. I hope he proves me wrong and has a huge bounce back season, eating big minutes on the top pair.

Never mind, apparently Zetterberg will sit tomorrow due to a minor neck issue. Kronwall's knee is fine, back seized up day before camp. Expects to get in 1 or 2 preseason games. Bertuzzi has "mid-body" injury... Lines they skated with today in practice... Likely lineup for tomorrow (aside from Z) Tatar - Zetterberg - Nyquist Mantha - Larkin - Frk Helm - Nielsen - Sheahan Parenteau - Glendening - Witkowski DeKeyser - Daley Kronwall - Green Ericsson - Jensen Howard starting.
-
Why Zetterberg? Is he banged up?
-
Not ideal, but yes, I'd rather see that.

We dressed an AHL team, against the Chicago Blackhawks (minus Toews). I'm not sure if anyone should have expected any better than a 5 goal deficit. I'm thinking we'll have pretty much our opening night roster tomorrow night. So if we don't have a decent showing in that one, that's when we should start to worry... especially if Boston dresses a similarly talented squad as we did last night...
-
I don't think anyone would say that DeKeyser has been living up to that contract. He isn't massively overpaid at $5M, but lower $4M would have been ideal. He's not a top 2 defenseman, but a solid top 4. If he's utilized properly, I think he could have a bounce back season. Unfortunately though, Blashill will likely overplay him, 22+ minutes a night in a top pair role. It's a bit of a stretch though to say that there are 215 defensemen in the league better than him like kjw25 is suggesting...

I was thinking either Ford or Esposito. I think it is Ford though. Yeah, they must have that f***ed up. Pearson definitely isn't playing. Hasn't played at all in training camp / preseason due to college / university restrictions.
-
I know who he is, but Pearson isn't playing. He is still playing at University of Maine.
-
Well obviously...
-
You lose all credibility with this one...
-
You want to complain about Sheahan getting an A in a preseason game? Please tell us who is more deserving over him in this game?...
-
I do like Frk on that left side on the power-play...
-
Wonder what the odds are for the 1st overall...

Svechnikov with 2 goals tonight in his first OHL game with Barrie. -
Booth on the rebound, Rasmussen driving the net.

Not with the Wings they don't. I've been very impressed with Booth. He could be a solid addition to our bottom 6.

Cholowski has zero chance at making the Red Wings. He would have to be producing at a point per game pace, dominating these pre-season games to be considered for the Griffins. He will play this season in Prince George. Hicketts should probably make the team over others currently on the roster, but being waiver exempt and there already being a log jam on the back end, he's not going to jump over Ouellet and Sproul among others. Ericsson if healthy, will play every single game. Russo should be passed by Hicketts, possibly Hronek and Saarijarvi and maybe even McIlrath this season. He's a career AHLer in my opinion. Wow, very impressive move by Booth. Short-handed dangle to get in all alone and just missed the five hole...
-
Absolutely. Not even close. But Russo won't make the team either.
