Stay away from any and all big name free agents. Don't sign anyone for longer than 2-3 max. I'd look at a stop-gap center like Turris, and a backup goaltender like Talbot, both on cheap, short-term deals.

As for forwards, I'd like to see Turris signed to a cheap, short-term (2 year) contract to play 2C until Veleno is ready. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Zadina Fabbri - Turris - Mantha Svechnikov - Filppula - Gagner Helm - Rasmussen - Glendening Nielsen / Timashov

Assuming Seider does sign with Rogle, I don't think he will be eligible to play in the NHL until after the SHL season ends. Until then, I'd go with... DeKeyser - Hronek Nemeth - Lindstrom Cholowski - Staal Biega Once Seider does come back, he could slot right in for the inevitable injury, or after the trade deadline, for Nemeth / Staal. I also wouldn't be surprised if there's another signing and / or trade before the season (hopefully) starts...

So you don't think Seider, who has never played an NHL game, is better than Hronek RIGHT NOW? Interesting...

Not surprised. Too bad it didn't work out with Perlini, but he never got a real shot under Blash. Ehn is a replacement level 4th liner. Kind of surprised Erne is being qualified, but I guess we need to keep some warm bodies around...

What's bad about it? So you believe you should based on need? You should pass on better players based on position? There's only one way to build a team?

So many terrible takes here... So basically, we should have ignored best player available, and taken a player that was drafted 5 (Rossi) to 6 (Perfetti) spots later, that several other teams passed over, some for other wingers... Always take best player available. A elite winger like Raymond can make his center (maybe Veleno) that much better. Your best players do not have to be centers and defensemen. There are other ways to build a team. And to pass on better players, just because they're wingers is a definite recipe for disaster.

LOL no team should have their own list... everyone should just go by the consensus pick...

Also Panarin. I like the Marner comp the most for what I've seen of Raymond. Not even close to a Hall or Tarasenko stylistically...
