  1. Retaining salary means nothing to us. It wasn't a spectacular trade, but not terrible either.
  2. I was hoping for either a top prospect or a 1st round pick. Two 2nd's is close. Good deal.
  3. LOL I thought you would be thrilled with this deal. You LOVE 2nd round picks...
  4. Broberg would be a fail? Relax. It's not going to be future considerations... lol
  5. Yup, Oilers have always been my *2nd* team, so I was hoping he'd end up in Edmonton. But WHAT IS THE RETURN?!?!
  6. Seems like Timashov is basically Hirose...
  7. I'd send back a 2nd (WSH) in that deal. Big fan of Marchenko.
  8. Marchenko and a 1st. Get f***ed Jarmo!
  9. Theres no way that would be one-for-one... I like Anderson, but not for Athanasiou. 1st or top prospect.
  10. Marchenko would be a great pickup.
  11. Another high price paid. Bodes well for an Athanasiou return...
  12. Jesus... The Sens are doing well stocking that cupboard with quality picks... C'mon Yzerman, work your magic.
  13. You're comparing three players that have struggled to a player that has played very well. I didn't say Yzerman wont trade Fabbri (or any player). I said Yzerman is not going to trade low on any player. Reading Fabbri for a late 2nd round pick, is selling low. If the kids coming up are so good (I don't think they are), let them push him out. Don't trade the player and hope we have something better to replace him...
  14. Of all the "assets" we have, I hope we use the ample cap space available to take on a bad contract / cap dump to gain a prospect / pick...
  15. But... I did mention that... lol
  16. For an aging veteran on an expiring contract, that has been bad, and often injured (Green), you take what you can get. For a veteran goaltender with one year remaining, that has been arguably the teams MVP, you need to get value. I guess it depends on how much you value mid round picks... For me, a 3rd round pick wouldn't be enough.
  17. You need 3rd line wingers, and Fabbri would be a great 3rd liner. You can keep saying that you don't see him here long-term, but you have nothing to base that on. Yzerman traded for him, and he's been great thus far. I doubt he's in any rush to move him. How is a 24 year old skilled winger at all comparable to a 34 year old washed up defenseman? One you keep around through a rebuild. One you trade for whatever you can get. As for Bernier, trading him for a 3rd would be selling low. Why sell low when there are teams in need of goaltending depth?
  18. This is a lost season. I don't know about you though, but I don't want to see them get blown out all 18 of the remaining games. And I'm sure the players don't want that either. I'd be okay with trading Bernier, but not for a 3rd. 2nd at minimum. Yeah, I'd prefer to keep Glendening around as well. Great veteran for the young kids to lean on / learn from. Particularly work ethic (on and off the ice), and just how to be a good pro.
