  1. They won't be moved, because Yzerman wont trade low on either of them. Fabbri is 24 years old (in the age range of our young core), and a very good middle six winger. You don't trade that for a pick in the 50's that has less than a 10% chance to be as good as the player you're trading in 3-5 years... If Bernier was actually OUR backup, I'd probably let him go for a 3rd round pick. He's not though. He's our starter. You don't trade that, unless a team is willing to (over)pay.
  2. Jost has struggled, but is still a very good young player. Likely to be better than Athanasiou. I'd do a Athanasiou for Jost swap (with other pieces involved). I wouldn't trade Fabbri, unless it's an overpayment (1st round pick / top prospect), which isn't going to happen. Fabbri is worth more than a 2nd round pick. Same goes for Bernier. There's no way Yzerman trades him for a 3rd round pick. I'd want a 2nd round, plus.
  3. I can see the Avs being a good fit. I don't think Fabbri is going anywhere, but wouldn't hate seeing Bernier get moved, if the price is right.
  4. I agree that Athanasiou should not be traded, unless there's a 1st round pick, or top prospect coming back. No rush to trade him, and no need to sell low.
  5. Zero chance Nemeth gets traded. He's one of the few capable defensemen on our roster.
  6. A week ago, a 3rd or 4th round pick is about all I would have expected for Green. But with the inflated market, I was hoping he would go for a little more, maybe a 3rd (conditional 2nd) round pick. Oh well. Still a good trade in my opinion. Green has been bad, and often injured, so you take what you could get. If we can get a similar return for Daley now, that would be great. I hope Yzerman is really busy today, and can come away with a couple really good prospect(s) / pick(s)...
  7. A team would have to overpay, but every player should have a pricetag.
  8. Bokk plus a 2nd round pick... No. I think Bouchard is close to untouchable for Edmonton, but I'd prefer to target Broberg anyway, being a left-handed shot. If we could get him in some package involving Athanasiou, I'd be thrilled.
  9. Bernier not practicing...

Sit Green, Daley and Helm. Start Howard.
  11. To CAR: Jonathan Bernier, Evgeny Svechnikov To DET: Dominik Bokk do it
  12. I'd love to go after Broberg, but it would take a lot more than that to get it done...

kipwinger and his dumb takes... McDavid is not close to Draisaitl... What a f***ing knob...

... or you can go back one single season and see the drastic difference... Lafreniere >>> Rossi. Get over it.
  15. 50 points, 48 points, huge difference isn't it? If Namestnikov put up two more points that year, he would be looking at an extra $2M+ per. It's a shame really. Now he's only going to get around $3.5M... The extra 8 points per season is definitely worth double the salary... Just admit it, you're dumb bro. The truth will set you free.

How about track record, for one? Lafreniere has been ELITE for much longer than Rossi. He came out of nowhere. Always be wary of late risers. Yeah, you're always thinking outside of the box with your big brain moves... LOL
  17. I said $5.5M dumbass... So again, a player that puts up 48 points won't get $5.5M (ballpark), but a player that puts up 50+ (literally an extra 2 points in an 82 game season) gets over $7M. kipwingerlogic...

So if you had the number one pick in this year's draft, you would draft Marco Rossi 1st overall? LOL, you really are dumb...
  19. So Hayes put up one season of 55 points and got over $7M, but Namestnikov *only* put up 48 points, so therefore isn't getting anything close to $5.5M?... Yeah okay... Not only are you a prick, but you're also dumb as s***...

    2020 Draft Thread

You do realize that Rossi and Lafreniere are in different leagues right? Lafreniere >>> Rossi, and it's not close. And yes, even Scott Wheeler has Lafreniere far ahead of Rossi, ranked 1st and 5th respectively.
  21. Kevin Hayes - career high 49 points (in 76 games) - signs a 7 year, over $7M contract last off-season at the age of 27. Vladislav Namestnikov - career high 44 points (in 62 games) - 27 years old. Will NOT sign a long term, big money ($5.5M) contract (because kipwinger says so)... That's just one example. There are others. To pretend there aren't dumb NHL GM's is, well, dumb...
  22. Namestnikov doesn't have a connection with Detroit, his uncle does. He does have a connection with Yzerman though. He drafted him, but also traded him away. I never said Namestnikov is "worth" that sort of contract. If I thought he was worth it, I'd obviously have no problem giving it to him. Again, if we can get Namestnikov for cheap, by all means, but I think he's going to cost close to double what Filppula is making.
  23. And that would be a first, a true shocker if an NHL GM overpaid for a free agent on July 1st... No one said he should add "four more bad contracts"... One would be a start. What should Yzerman do? AGAIN, in my opinion, if he wants to add a player or two via free agency, it should be a low cost stop gap ala Filppula / Nemeth last off-season.
  24. I originally said 6 years at $5.5M, so yes, I think he will sign a contract somewhere in that ballpark. What do you think he'll sign? Much lower cap hit, for less years I assume? Umm yeah... Sign mid level player to a bad contract, and you have nothing but a mid level player on a bad contract. Trade for a mid level player already on a bad contract, and you now have a mid level player on a bad contact AND extra assets... It's really not that complicated...
  25. Namestnikov is a 3rd line center that will get paid like a 2nd line center, because "Free Agent Frenzy"... A rebuilding team does not need that. There's no way we're signing him cheap, short-term, but if we could sign him cheap ($3M), long(ish)-term (4-5 years) OR expensive ($6M), short-term (1-2 years), I'd consider it. Chances are, he's going to want more money, longer term though, and that I wouldn't be interested in, in any free agent. If we need to sign anyone, sign stop gaps like last summer. I've already explained this numerous times in different threads, but here it is again... Trade for bad contracts and acquire future assets (picks / prospects)...
