No where did I say "NHL player or bust". And it's not at all a uncommon to think a player will be a 3rd pair defenseman or bust (aka tweener). Top six winger or bust, yeah that's exactly the same thing...

This. I "think" Veleno has more upside based on what I've seen of both players thus far. However, if Rasmussen ends up the better player long term, I won't care, as long as both are quality players (not busts). It's amazing how many people spew bulls*** online without having any idea what they're talking about. Watch a game. You'll see that Rasmussen and Veleno get utilized very similarly. There's talk about the AHL finally tracking TOI as early as next season. Too bad it wasn't this season, because I'm sure we'd see very similar minutes for these two guys. Also, like I mentioned previously, Veleno plays both special teams, while Ras only plays power-play. -

Less... He should just be looking at raw stats. Ignore the actual games. -
Yup, I'm sure acting like a guru with my hot take of Veleno becoming a 2C... I don't claim to know all, but like I said earlier, someone that watches, should in theory know more than someone that doesn't. Yeah, no reclamation projects have ever worked out... EVER...

Seems like such a simple concept... -
What the f*** are you talking about? I said Perline could be a solid middle six winger. He's already proven elsewhere that he can be that. It hasn't (yet) worked out here. Oh well. I said we should have reclaimed Comrie for goaltender depth in Grand Rapids. I sure was wrong on those "projections"... Try harder dude...

There have been several prospect rankings in the past two years that have Veleno ahead of Rasmussen. They're all dumb though. -

You got it... -
So, lemme ask you this in a way your dumbass will understand. If Frk wasn't going to be a 3rd liner, do you think he would have been a good checking 4th liner? Hell no... A lot of borderline "skilled" NHL / AHL players are 3rd line or bust. You don't have to be a f***ing genius to understand such a simple concept...

You: Not even the close to being the same. -
I said Bertuzzi - 3rd / 4th liner. He's more like a 2nd / 3rd liner. I'm sure you thought he was going to be as good as he's turned out though right? I bet... The jury is still out on Svechnikov, but I still think he could be a decent 3rd line winger. Coreau, I was way off on. How is 3rd line or bust two extremes? It's not like I said 1st line or bust. I'd put Hirose into that same category now. I wasn't going for hot takes "bro", I was going for what I thought at the time to be decent projections. Some were. Some weren't. You also thought Frk was going to be a 3rd liner, and I'm pretty sure you were even higher than that on Pulkkinen. You've had your fair share of terrible takes, just like the rest of us.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said... I can count on one hand the number of games I've missed in the past 10 years... What do ya know, kip was right for once... "I'm done with this"... -

I've made plenty of coherent arguments. You're clearly just not paying attention. I call bulls*** on that one. It is an opinion, you f***ing knob. What else would a future projection be? Unlike you, I don't have a crystal ball. Bigger players are also always better. -
Cute. If I cared enough, I'm sure I could come up with a list just as bad or worse by every single person on here. I don't care enough... I'm not claiming to know all because I watch the Griffins, but someone that watches the games should in theory know more than someone that doesn't. I was dead on with quite a few, off slightly on another few, and dead wrong on a few as well. Most of the one's I was wrong on, most people had similar projections as well. The only one I was surprised about was Hronek. I don't ever remember being that low on him. It must have been the following season when I got on the Hronek hype train... Sproul was the one I was the furthest off on the other way. But most everyone (including you) thought he would become a top 4 defenseman. You also by the way, thought that Athanasiou was going to be better than Larkin...

Wow... You've really lost it, haven't you? You used to be good at this... Ok, so you don't watch the Griffins... No big deal. But it makes perfect sense why you think Rasmussen is the far superior player... -

It doesn't go back and forth though. It goes around in circles. Both of us repeating the same bulls***... Okay, how about this then... If given the choice, who would you take, the 20th overall player, or the 53rd overall player? Hint: I'm talking about Cholowski or Hronek. What about the 6th overall player, or the 9th overall player? Zadina or Rasmussen... It doesn't need any explanation... Like I've said several times, and I knew I'd have to repeat myself... In general, yes, you'd take the higher draft pick, but that isn't always the case. In fact, there's almost always a pick in the 20's-40's that would end up a top 10 pick in a re-draft. Even if Rasmussen has produced better (taking age and experience into account), I don't think that necessarily means that Ras will be the better player long-term. And no, I'm not backing off my Veleno > Rasmussen argument, but it's no secret that all players develop at different rates. The thing is, I think it's possible that Ras could end up being the better player, whereas you think it's impossible for Veleno to become the better player. You keep talking about the numbers. We're all well aware of the numbers. Have you watched them play? Serious question. I have a LOT this season, and both are being highly utilized. Veleno is always out there to take key draws. He's on the power-play (left wall) and penalty kill. Rasmussen is only on the power-play (net-front). I also wish TOI was tracked in the AHL, because I would think their average TOI is very close, maybe even slightly in Veleno's favor, due to being on both special teams. I think they're more of a 1A / 1B, than a 1 / 2 right now. -

I rarely call people dumb, unless their dumb is really showing... I do however, call some arguments dumb. Mostly one's with you lately... You have a tendency to run around in circles. I'm just dumb enough to follow you... So where do you project Rasmussen / Veleno? In general, yes. In this instance, no. Who's better, Valeri Nichushkin (10th overall) or David Pastrnak (25th overall)? I can ask dumb questions too... Not at all true. I hear and completely understand the argument for Byfield over Lafreniere because of the big age gap. I just think Lafreniere is such a special player that in this case, age doesn't matter to me. I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about that... -

You constantly personally attack people... In fact, you dig up personal information on people, and use it against them. The lowest of low, stinkiest of stinky cologne... Sure. Whatever you say... Out of curiosity, where do you project Rasmussen? Veleno? Do what? Repeat the same old drivel over and over again? You sure can... Age matters, but it's not the determining factor... I'm sure I'll have to repeat that again, when you inevitably repeat the same dumb question again... I think Veleno will be the better player. You think Rasmussen will be the better player. Who gives a f***? We have both... Me: Veleno will be our future 2C. CRL / 91Ryan: NO F***ING WAY! VELENO SUX. RAS IS THE MAN! Yeah, okay... -

I'm not "grasping at straws". I've already laid out my argument for Veleno. He's a much better skater, better puck carrier, better passer, higher hockey IQ. You disagree, and that's fine. Bigger? Stronger? Wowzers! he must be better... Drafted higher? That's a sure sign he'll be better... Ahead in his development (9 months older)? Obvi better... You're finally starting to get it... Yes, if Stromwall plays in Detroit next season, and puts up 2nd line production, he could absolutely garner a 1st, just like Gusev. -
No. We can trade Bernier, but only if we get a suitable return. Anything less than a 2nd, no thanks!

Makes total sense now. You don't look beyond the raw stats... I guess that's why you were so quick to turn on Zadina last year and Larkin this year... We've had our share of debates over the years, but for the most part, I could see your point of view in the past, even if I disagreed. I don't know if it's how terrible this team is right now or what... but you're being all kinds of irrational lately... -

Ok. I'll bite on your "argument"... Not knowing the prospects, of course you take the higher pick. Knowing the prospects and their body of work, you can make a somewhat educated guess at who will be the better player. In my opinion, that's Veleno in this scenario. You think it's Rasmussen. I don't think it will be that lopsided one way or the other. You do. Okay... Very clearly... -

Rasmussen was picked higher than Veleno, so therefore he has a higher potential? I don't think I need to explain how flawed that logic is... Do you think there's a bigger gap between Veleno and Rasmussen, or McDavid and Eichel? Hint: it's McDavid and Eichel, and it's not even close...
