"Remember that time 5 years ago, you were wrong about that prospect?"... aka, "I'm a dummy and I have nothing else to say"...

No one's raving about Cholowski. I'm simply saying exactly what you just said... It's dumb to write off a 21 year old defenseman after one season.

3rd on the team in points for a defenseman, despite missing a significant chunk. He's doing this as a 21 year old, on the worst team in the entire league. There's this one (two) guy(s) who has given up on Cholowski already. I'm not going to tell you how to fan, but I think it's stupid as s*** to give up on a 21 year old prospect. You do you though...
  4. You do realize that we'd have to win 7 straight (not happening), and the team ahead of us (LA) would have to lose 7 straight (not happening) just to get out of last place. In order to jump at all in the standings, we would likely have to win something like 17 of the final 27 games, assuming all other teams keep a similar pace as they've played all season. We've all but locked up the 31st spot. It's okay to root for some wins...
  5. Yeah, what's your point? If this is your clever way of trying to get a dig in on Cholowski, it's two completely different players under completely different circumstances. Cholowski is an offensive defenseman that has looked good offensively, and struggled defensively. Lindstrom is a defensive defenseman that has looked good defensively, and struggled offensively... Imagine that...

There are too many dummies on this site... If by "got it", you mean going from 15 fights in his first season, to only 5-10 the next several seasons, then sure, Brendan got it... At the age of 33 his fights finally started to tail off. He never played a single season without at least one fight, and averaged about 5 fights every season. There's nothing wrong with a player standing up for himself or a teammate, but I do agree that maybe Mantha should lay off the fisticuffs for a while, if he can't avoid injury...

Should the Wings try to sign Lehner July 1st?

If we could get him short-term for cheap, sure. We won't be able to, so no... Assuming no team overpays for Bernier at the deadline, he will likely be our starter going into next season. Howard will likely retire, and I don't trust Pickard as a backup. We'll need to sign a cheap UFA to backup Bernier, or make a trade...
  8. I think he looked good last night with limited minutes. Quick, smart passes. Didn't overthink plays. Definitely didn't look in over his head.

Sell high on him? Sure. What would you sell him for though? I wouldn't let him go for anything less than a 2nd round pick, minimum. I'd want a 2nd, plus. What's the difference? There's a huge difference in losing every game 3-2, 2-1 with a scattered win sprinkled in with Bernier, or 8-2, 6-1 with little to no chance of a win with Howard / Pickard.
  10. This game? Daley MIGHT be the only defenseman that has played for this team this season that is better than Biega... Maybe...

Yeah... Larkin isn't going anywhere. Mantha isn't going anywhere. Bertuzzi isn't going anywhere. Hronek isn't going anywhere. That's our current core. None are going to be traded, unless a team significantly overpays.
  12. Because it's a nickname Canucks fans gave him, and he couldn't be further from a bulldog.
  13. By dumb Canucks fans. You should be ashamed to call him "bulldog"...

Yzerman isn't blowing up the core.
  15. He has heart, but to say he is a bulldog is laughable. More like a chihuahua... Yeah, almost as much as Larkin and Zadina eh?
  16. I made a comment. Biega f***ing sucks... It's hard to watch. Similar comments made here daily about much less deserving players.
  17. How the f*** would I know why Blashill scratched him? Why did Yzerman call up Lindstrom and not Seider? Sure. But Cholowski has been better this season. You reward players for that. You don't reward s***ty veterans for awful play.
  18. He is clearly better than Biega. So is Bowey.
  19. I'll add that I'm not in any way saying that Cholowski has been good enough. He hasn't. There's no disputing that. I am however, saying that he's 100% been better than Alex f***ing Biega, along with every other (12) defenseman that have dressed for the Red Wings this season...
  20. Oh ok, so Blashill scratched him, so that's obviously the right decision... Got it...
  21. Whoever made that thread sucks...
  22. That'd be a "fun" pair to watch... We should send Biega down to see how they look together... It's amazing that you're giving up on a 21 year old Cholowski, that has actually been good offensively, but has struggled defensively (not at all uncommon for a young defenseman)... But yet you think 20 year old Rasmussen is the next coming...
  23. I get that you're having fun saying Bowey sucks! Cholowski sucks! Durrr... But there's no way you actually believe that Biega is better. He's awful. He brings nothing. He's terrible defensively. He's terrible offensively. He's a good skater, but that's literally it. He tries to play bigger than he is, but the only problem is, he's not bigger than he is... I think he may be the worst defenseman we've dressed in quite some time...
