Nyquist has 7 points points in 18 nhl games. While his potential is high, there is no way his overall should be higher than it is. he is still just a prospect. Howard should be about 3 points higher imo and franzen should be slightly lower than filppula. the new gm connected mode is enough for me to buy the game. it's going to be fantasy hockey on steriods lol. and the new skating engine looks great. but i agree, the freeing issues last year were bad and they never could fix it. hopefully that isn't an issue this time around

good signing for the preds. they need the veteran presence on the blue line, which hannan will provide and for 1m it's a good deal. however he was pretty awful in calgary last year, had a worse corsi rating than hal gill . probably will most likely be a 3rd paring dman for them.

just for the record, the last time the hockey news predicted us finishing low in the conference was the 06-07 season where they said we would finish 6th and could very easily miss the playoffs. that year the wings finished tied for 1st in the league and went on to the conference finals

I would rather have boumeester than yandle. mostly because yandle will be way more expensive to acquire than j-bo will be. Yandle isn't even that great defensively anyways

agreed. this is no reason why these guys shouldn't be negotiating 8 hours a day, 5 days a week right now. the state of the nhl depends on this new cba. another lockout will be devastating

they're just protecting themselves from the potential lockout like i mentioned in the other winter classic thread, i would not be shocked if the winter classic turns out to be the first game of the nhl regular season. would be a hell of way to get the season started if there is a lockout -

agreed. osgood was our best player by far in that series. if wings win the cup, osgood most likely gets the conn smythe, a 4th stanley cup and would most likely be a shoo in for the hall of fame

yes but the drawing doesn't take place until august 26. all i have been able to find is that tickets will be avaliable in mid august. i'm assuming that's for season ticket holders. -
as soon as i saw that the lidstrom shot didn't go in, i turned the tv off. couldn't bring myself to watch crosby parading the cup around. i still haven't watched anything from that series to this day

i get sick to my stomach watching any series that the wings lose but the 09 finals was beyond brutal. blowing a 2-0 and 3-2 series lead and losing the cup at home? i would rather get swept than lose game 7 at home

i noticed that too. considering that it says "ticket packages" i'm guessing that they are going to force you to buy AHL/OHL tickets with it -
received this in my email today http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=82287 just as i suspected, it looks like some alumni tickets are going to be avaliable to the public, not just season ticket holders.

just logged into to my account and noticed that there is now a link to the alumni game when i clicked on the buy tickets link, but when i click on it, it says no events scheduled. so perhaps they are close to releasing alumni tickets? -

i have a feeling that alumni tickets are going to wind up being just as expensive as the winter classic tickets. if that's the case, i would rather just watch it on tv. especially since i have already blown 300 bucks on the winter classic -

that's true. on their faq section they mention that tickets may not be able to be forwarded due to certain restrictions. so it's possible that the tickets will never show up on the site and you will just have to wait until they get mailed to you it really sucks that you have to buy tickets to the GLI to get the winter classic tickets. wonder how many people will actually go to it. -
