yes. i think everyone knew the story about him already signing was false. but greenstein never denied that pavel had made his mind up in the mlive article. just said that they have talked and will talk again in the summer

word of advice. valenti and foster know absolutely nothing about the red wings or hockey. valenti seems to have a personal hatred of anything hockey so take whatever he says with a grain of salt.

At the beginning of the playoffs in games 1-3 of the ducks series, he looked like the same Howard of the past playoff years, but he really stepped his game up starting in game 4 of that series and hasn't looked back since.

crawford is the most overrated goalie in the league. the defense in front of him covers up his mistakes. but when the defense doesn't bail him out, you get the results like you saw today

smith has been awful for most of the year. last i checked, players who play like garbage are fair game to be bashed, rookie or not. now that doesn't mean that he will be garbage forever. he is a rookie after all. trading him at this point would be jumping the gun so to that regard i do say have some patience.

crawford doesn't scare me. it's the hawks defense that scares me. i think crawford faced the same amount of grade A scoring chances in all 5 games than howard did in one game.

his poor play with the puck far outweighs everything else. his turnover led to the ducks first goal yesterday. and when was the last time one of his shots from the point actually hit the net and not get blocked

blues had their chance to win this series in game 4 when they had a lead in the 3rd period but squandered it away not impressed with the kings so far. they were outplayed for the majority of the series. they are certainly not the same team that ran away with the cup last year

quincy and smith have been god awful this season. it's very disappointing to see how much smith has regressed this season. i haven't seen any evidence of this guy's supposedly great offensive instincts. not saying he's a bust yet, but he needs to show some drastic improvement next season. the wings are very fortunate that they were able to get dekeyser in case smith turns out to be a complete bust. quincy.. well i think he's a lost cause at this point.

What an awful call to end a series. Since when is a shoulder on shoulder hit considered boarding. And of course it was the center ice ref that makes the call and not the guy 2 feet away. Sharks had twice the amount of power plays than the Canucks. Where have I seen that before?

one advantage of being in the west is the lack of afternoon games, which the wings always seem to suck in if i recall, when the channel was still called versus, they would have an extra channel for games that run over, simliar to fsd plus. perhaps that is how they will do it

not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but all games in this series will be televised on fox sports detroit

this is going to be an entertaining series. cant wait to see perry and getlaf have mental meltdowns when things don't go their way. This year is the polar opposite of last year in that the wings backed into the playoffs last year, while this year they are coming in as one of the hottest teams in the league should be fun!

Any player that gets double and triple teamed is going to have the most giveaways. Not to mention Datsyuk has the puck more than any other red wing when he is on the ice

I agree he was working hard in the 1st but I don't think it has anything to do with being center. I think it has to do with the fact that he and the rest of the team s*** the bed yesterday and know they need a win tonight.

because around here holland is the worst gm in the history of hockey and bowman and yzerman are the best ever nobody is going to be the next lidstrom. defense prospect pool looks solid. one of, if not the best in the league right now. so it's holland's fault that he missed on parise and suter? exploring trades does not mean that he's 100% guaranteed going to make a trade. exploring means just that, exploring your options. so unless you have inside knowledge of exactly what was going on in holland's office during the summer and trade deadline, you really don't have room to speak. some of you folks put way too much stock into what is said to the media. now regarding the youth movement issue, there can be no defending holland on that one. samulesson and cleary should not be in the lineup at all. but at least bertuzzi provided some size and grit and is a key player in the shootouts so i can see why holland would want to keep him around.

his regular seasons have been fine. it's in the playoffs that he hasn't done so great. he actually reminds me a lot of jimmy howard. some nights he can be the best goalie in the league, other nights he would barely qualify as an nhl backup
