I don't care if he is in the AHL for the rest of this year and next year too. The bottom line is he is a good prospect with what is likely going to be a bright future. If his game is similar to Stuart's then he would fit in well with the Wings. Edmonton has a ton of young talent and it has amounted to nothing so far. I'd like to see us get a good young player that can step in sooner rather than later, hopefully.

I'm just glad he's not in Pitt or NY. I hate the media bias towards the east coast teams, and for once a team of lesser fame is getting a player even though they aren't the NHL's darling.

How many Black Aces can we carry? I know the playoff roster expands, but I'm not sure how many, and how many are actually on the roster as opposed to Black Aces. Sorry about the massive run-on sentence.

I'm 50/50 on this. It would look like a fair deal now, however I agree with Crymson on the fact that Franzen was instrumental in our previous runs and the '08 cup. Edler might be a great player now, but I just am not on his band wagon to the point of just saying we for sure would be better with him than Franzen. -
So the crappy part about this whole thread, Helm had a set-back today in practice... Babcock was NOT happy.

Kane's move is so jacked up. I can't stand watching them in shootouts because of his bs.

I would guess he'll be a Duck as well. Selane will retire after this year too, opening up some cap space.

There was at least once tonight when I saw Cleary had been moved up to Z's line and Franzen was back with Datsyuk. I didn't get to watch the game, but clipped through to watch a few minutes around each goal to see how they worked out. Was there a legit reason for that switch, or was it because of a long shift or injury?

I have to agree with Crymson on this. Babcock is a top coach in the NHL. I also agree that the Datsyuk line is the most frustrating line I've seen in awhile by Babcock.

I agree. There's enough push behind Howard to keep his cap hit down a bit IMO. I would say high 3s to 4 at the most. He hasn't earned more than that.
