Did anyone else take advantage of the Stadium Series Pre Sale today? Luckily for me, my college buddy just moved out there and lives across the street from Coors field. I got 3 tickets to alumni game and the actual game for $267. I cant contain my excitement. Sorry, needed a place to vent it!

It is clearly Kane. Guy is electric in big moments. Always shows up for the playoffs. He makes everyone on the ice with him better. He has come a long way in his laziness and two way game. I remember watching when he was in his first few years and every time the puck would transition he would just change. He doesn't do that anymore. His hockey game has certainly matured over the years. Not so much off the ice.

If Carl Soderbergs getting something like that, Mean Mlke Green is going to be getting at least 6.5 mil. 3 yr 12 mil is a pipe dream. It will be a 6 or 7 at 6.5 is my guess and at that point, for a player who was relegated to a third pair (albeit having his best statistical season in years) and has not played more than 72 games in 6 years. I mean there were players on those players teams that their only purpose was to protect them from getting touched. The goalies were brutal then too. Watch those highlights. A lot of those goals would be easily stopped today. Again, not knocking those guys, they were greats and paved the way for today, but to say today isn't faster and overall more skilled is wrong.

It's been like 10 minutes, but whose counting? Like a previous comment stated, the players top to bottom are much more skilled and way faster than the previous generations. Not saying the 90's didn't have all time greats, but the 30 or so you mentioned were skating around players out there solely to fight and hit. Today's game is losing that and for the better imo. Overall the goalies today are much better and much more athletic which is why scoring is down and numbers were inflated in previous generations. I'm sure someone could go down the list of teams today and make a compelling list of future hall of famers as long, if not longer if they wanted. Hell, the hawks alone have 4

HAHAH the players were better? You guys crack me up. Hockey has never seen the speed and skill it has now. All that clutching and grabbing was dumb and honestly line brawls were a sideshow to the actual game. And the ratings are better because the advertising is reaching so many different mediums and the game is being watched everywhere and anywhere.

Anyone want to play the projected lines game with me? C'mon, it'll be fun for the next 4 months.

Section 209 row 17. I'm a big center ice guy. The height doesn't so much bother me. Obviously I enjoy being in the lowers or even the lower parts of the uppers, but sitting high center ice is cool watching how they set up power plays, break-ins and break-outs etc. It's also fun just keeping your eyes on Datsyuk for a complete shift and watch his positioning. Used to love to do the same with Lidstrom.

Had to spend the $60 on Stubhub and welcome the new guys and see our captain return tonight. Also, missed the smell of Little Caesars and cement coated in spilled Molson. Screw their D...4-1 wings. LGRW

I think Babs is recognizing the team can score goals but want this group to realize that in the long haul it's not about who scores the most, it's about keeping the puck out of the net. I loved the comeback against Winnipeg as much as the next fan, but in reality,, in the playoffs if that happens you are are not going to come back against good teams. So i dont think its so much he dosnt want them to score as it is he wants them to disicpline their game so it pays divedends when goals are at a premium.

I think Babs is going to let Weiss get his feet wet the first few weeks after not skating at a high level in about 2 years. I like giving Nestrasil a shot and liked hearing a quote from him along the lines of how he wasnt nervous and how he would be if he had to look forward to this, but since he made the team out of nowhere, he was just ready to play. A little baptism by fire. Anyone but Cleary....
