Been hearing all day how buffalo let teams know chris stewart is available, just curious what do you guys think he would cost? He's been having an awful year , last year on his deal I could see him playing with pavel and maybe getting it going again and he's a big body and a guy I can see being useful in the playoffs 3rd round pick?

Whenever ouellet or any young d gets called up they'll most likely start on the 3rd pairing ... How many years can you spend in the ahl without having to clear waivers? 3? If that's the case then we will have 3-4 guys ready at the same time My opinion is ouellet is ahead of those guys and on most other teams he'd be playing (yes I know we always let our guys stay down as long as possible) he reminds me of vlasic from sj , I think he can play now and we'd be better down the season stretch with him now Kindl has been playing good but now is the time to send him packing, you can't trade a guy when he's useless , nobody will want him if he comes back to his old self(and I can see him screwing up defensively in the playoffs) Besides ouellet I'd say the next guy closest to call up is jensen as he's already 24 yrs of age and the team seemed to like him a lot during the pre season (marchenko also played with men in the khl and is good defensively) Bluejackets have had to deal with loads of injuries all year

We should gradually be playing some rookies instead of needing to put 2-4 rookies at one time which is where we're headedA veteran dman would be good at the deadline but we got ouellet who would upgrade our d with him being in it ... And then next year or 2 sproul and jensen We need to make room for ouellet now and id say it's helped kindl has gotten some points last few games, might make it a bit easier to move him And if we have an injury like you said we got marchenko jensen sproul backman in our system and times gonna run out on them before we know it and were gonna have to see them play a few games

Definetly don't think pavel will continue to be on this so talked 3rd line but if all 3 lines continued to play well why stop it? Just imagine the 2 other lines continue to play great and we can afford to have pavel in a 3rd line in huge playoffs? That would create a lot of headaches for the opposing teams

Why not this year though with the right trade or trades?(veteran dman comes to mind) I mean most likely i see us surprising a team first round and being outed 2nd round but with zetterberg/datsyuk/kronwall/Franzen anythings possible. I'm sure some of the kids learned from last years playoffs vs boston ... Nyquist and Tatar are only getting better ... If howard shuts the door down and keeps playing well Might be biased cuz I love the wings but I think there's reason to be optimistic

Scores 30 goals again? Again? Try never as in 0 30 goal seasons for weiss , had one 28 goal season and after that his highest is 21 .... At this point I'd be happy with a 40 pt season from weiss till he takes a hike He was overrated when we signed him and will continue to be till he leaves ... I'm counting on mantha/pulkkinen/athanasiou and others coming down the road to help this team , not weiss

Weiss? At this point I can see people here 2 years from now bitching he hasn't had a shot yet ... Weiss isnt our saviour and never will be ... He has more of a chance being sent home in 2 yrs than being in detroit

F that ... I'd much rather give up howard than mrazek , time will tell but I think mrazek is a future star and is gonna be a winner and much better than howard down the roadThis is nothing against howard who's been real good this year , I'd personally wouldn't even consider for a second to get rid of mrazek

The way he held on to the puck and kept guys away ... We don't have too many 6'3 guys who can do that , and he had some offensive skill , sure he's not a 70 pt guy but I think he could of been the type of guy who can help in the playoffs and with Carolina I could see him getting 10-15 goals in a full season depending his situation It's not like jurco/sheahan/Tatar were doing much when he started getting benched either . Like I said with all the guys we have coming up losing him isn't a big deal, just bugs me a bit we didn't get a 7th round pick ... once again we get nothing for an asset ... Oh well

He showed some flashes ... I don't think he will be a 60pt+ guy but I do think he will surprise Wish he had more of a chance here (let's not forget jurco just scored his first last game and sheahan and others weren't lighting it up either ) It's not end of the world though with mantha bertuzzi and other kids coming up , just wish we'd get something in return , seems we always lose our assets for nothing
