I expect ouellet to start the season ... As for marchenko he might start in Grand Rapids but I don't think he'll stay too long there ... There will be some growing pains but it is what it is , we're rebuilding on the fly The kids had a great season but didn't do anything in the playoffs but it's a learning experience , I do expect us to have a rookie d this season though ... I'm personally hoping almquist somehow bulks up cause I think he can really help our power play but doesn't seem like he will and doesn't seem we're gonna give him a shot I think ouellet has a lot of attributes that are gonna make him a real important player for detroit And make him stay here a very long time so I'm not willing to give him up

The goal is to win every season ... We're wings fans and we want them to win the cup every year especially with zetterberg and pavel aging but we have to be smart and realistic and not try to mess with the future as well Will niskanen make us a cup contender? I'd say no .... Will ouellet/marchenko as rookies make us better than kindl/lashoff ? My personal opinion is yes I'd take ouellet over kindl ... He's a rookie but he always does the right play and I'd take marchenko over lashoff , that's how I see it ... Is it so hard to believe ouellet or sproul will end up being better than niskanen ? I personally think ouellet makes the team next year , coaches love him and I think he can be a vlasic type dman which if were lucky would be a huge addition Sproul has high upside and I'd got think after one more year in Grand Rapids he could be ready ... And these years you catch them I find it seriously hard that your looking out for niskanen and paying attention to his game ... Seriously doubt it ... Same with ouellet who's smart and knows how to play and makes the right moves .... 2nd best d? I think Ericsson is better ... His loss was evident vs boston .... If we're giving 5-8 million for a dman it better be for a real number 1 like a shea weber type
