Why is eaves on the ppl??.

Anyone know if there's somewhere to watch the game that doesn't require flash???

been saying for weeks he should be up here and playing a few games to see how he handles the nhl , dont expect him to be a goal scorer but i think he'll be a gritty in your face player which we need .. he should be called up

really frustrating time to be a redwings fan , i cant remember a time we been this bad , struggling so bad to score goals and yet we have so much talent on this team , seems lately were lucky if we score 2 goals in a game And my personal opinion i been sayin for a year now we got too many 4th line type players(thats my nice way of saying garbage players) cleary samuelsson bertuzzi eaves tootoo miller and now glendening 7 guys id consider 4th liners (not including andersson who id keep) thats way too many , we should be bringing up sheahan/ferraro/callahan guys who are out of waivers to see what they can do instead of bringing up another guy who's reliable but cant create any offense(glendening) were so pathetic right now we call up a 20 yr old kid in jurco whos playing amazing in the ahl to try and help us out of this disaster (id personally keep him down and let him dominate why chance it and ruin his progress) anyways all this to say i hope they wake the F up cause i cant remember a time we been this bad hope we turn this thing around a bit off topic here but im also a cowboys fan so hasnt been a good night or season for that matter

i heard darren mccarthy on the radio today cause he came out with some book and the grind line came up and right away i was thinking how badly we need a grind line and how the wings should call up callahan whos an agitator and grinds and hits guys (he could be the new maltby?) maybe put him with helm (who can be the draper?) but even there unfortunetly were lacking a darren mccarty on the team or even in our prospects as far as i know ive been talking about steve ott for along time ... forget next season we should trade for him now since hes gonna be a ufa and buffalo aint going anywhere and let him run around and hit the sh*t out of some guys ... how id love to see that happen

well we gotta see what these kids can do right?thats the one good thing with the injuries is we get to test out some kids ... id personally like to see him center the 2nd line with tatar and nyquist at this point id say he'd create more offense with tatar and nyquist than andersson or glendening ( who else can we put at center???)

where was the injury bug in october? no doubt our team will be better when its finally at 100% but we still struggled at times with a full roster this season we got to many 4th line players who play the same style no chris neil's or dallas drake type player (who helped us bigtime in 08) on this team we need more nastyness (not saying fighters) that alone will open up the play for our high end guys

shouldnt have taken abdelkader and now franzen to be out for sheahan to have been called up

the reason why we suck is cause we got so many injuries is totally bogus ... in october 9 out of 13 games we played we scored 2 goals or fewer , besides helm we were healthy we improved a bit in november but lost 7 in a row and now we just lost 6 of 7 and every game this month so far minus the blown lead vs the flyers we scored less than 2 goals these team has way too many 4th line players playing the same style im not saying we need enforcers but if we got a few guys whod just go around and hit the crap out of guys our team would look alot better than it does now

the young kids need to play to get experience only way youll get talent that is proven is to get a #1 pick and that aint happening , i do believe once the playoffs start our game goes up we almost(and should have) knocked off the hawks last season add in a few more key players and subtract some i think we can compete , id personally love to see steve ott here if the cost isnt too crazy he'd be perfect for the playoffs and now someone who hits alot we havent had a player like that since dallas drake retired , too many similiar types of players here iv'e thought of that but i dont think its time quite yet to replace him and who would we replace him with??? yzermans gone , nills gone ... id say draper could succeed him down the road? until then let him stay? i mean what other ex redwings can he recoop now???? lol filppula and hudler aint coming back he already got quincey samuelsson bertuzi ... not much out there think were safe from ian white ... id say wait and see if he can pull some magic at the deadline first

the thing that blows my mind is how we keep putting samuelsson on the point on the 2nd ppl every time he plays , the guy ALWAYS turns the puck over on the ppl or takes a bad shot and we lose ppl time but yet hes always out there instead of putting smith or some other d , call up almquist for christ sake hed be awesome on the 2nd ppl unit this teams living in the past man thats why i hated the drew miller signing , not cause he sucks but 3 years?? not when we got so many 4th liners and some ahl kids coming up ..... cleary was about to walk away but we bring him back cause his "heart was in detroit" i just hope we dont get loyal again and sign him in the off season , some of these guys seriously need to go

younger and hungrier ... i think sheahan could have potential to be a 3rd liner maybe higher down the road? not counting on it but franzen wasnt suppose to be more than a 3rd-4th liner either and callahan can get in peoples faces and hit and get the occasional fights and ferraro has alot of speed cleary is done samuelsson is done bertuzzi is big but almost 40 , we need some fresh blood like you said , to many guys here being brought back and refusing to let go(those 3 i just mentioned are a perfect example + miller) thats very true but i do believe we struggled in games with most of the lineup healthy? alfredsson bertuzzi almost 40 or 40+ alot of similiar 4th line type players weiss being a bust + injuries just so many bad things happening with the wings

ya thats true man but we had the 'it was a shortened season excuse" but ya been a while we been struggling but this season i find theres not too many games were scoring 2+ goals its been horrific holland has prove hes got some magic still left in him and get rid of some of these wastes , maybe trade a few to a struggling team for someone who might be struggling there who might work here?? who knows but something all i know is id like to see more ahl ready kids who are hungry and get a shot , id personally wanna see sheahan and callahan called up at the same time, sheahan is a big body (6'2)and callahan is an agitator who hits and be nice on the 4th all i know is some changes need to be made

OMG they finally send emmerton back down but instead of calling up callahan/sheahan/ferraro up to see what they can do (since there out of waiver options next season) they call up glendening and eaves??!! what the hell's up with all this glendening love , hes a reliable 4th line player, but those type of players are a dime a dozen , hes not gonna score and neither is eaves and detroit desperatly needs GOALS 6'2 sheahan could of contributed , speedy ferraro , agitating callahan ... alot of fans been asking for nyquist and tatar here since last season and there finally up and easily 2 of our best forwards ... this just frustrating

thinking ahead ericsson kronwall dekeyser and kindl are going nowhere ... lashoff is a good reliable cheap 6-7dman i can see here for a few more yrs and we got ouellet sproul backman marchenko with loads of potential who will be here 1-3 yrs ( i can see maybe ouellet up fulltime next year) we got jensen with potential and some other big body dmen like dehaas,mckee who if were lucky can at the least be a 3rd pairing dman the point to all this is i dont believe quincey and smith have a future in detroit and we should possibly look at getting rid of them especially quincey who cost us a 1st i heard on sportsnet that edmonton is willing to give up there 1st (who could be a top 10) any chance of throwing them quincey smith and maybe somethin extra for that pick?id like to see almquist called up and playing on the 2nd ppl unit rather than samuelsson and i dont think quincey being gone is gonna be the reason we wouldnt win a cup

ya i think hes definetly hurt since gus is playing anyways , why call up mrazek only to sit him down ... unfortunetly got a feeling mrazek will be sent back rather quickly and wouldnt be shocked if he didnt get a start , dont think howards injury is serious

someone mentioned richards on a 2 yr deal ... these free agents wont want 2 yr deals theyll want longterm deals , as much as it sucks to maybe not get a good free agent we cant just sign anybody thats how we get screwed longterm i say we just go with the kids unless some top tier free agent ever becomes available and as much as i like vanek i wouldnt want him for say 50 mill for 7 yrs

before anyone starts telling me off yes i realize weiss has a no trade and no i dont think the wings would give up on him just yet but just curious if a - would you trade weiss to the islanders for vanek ? and b - do you think islanders would do it ?? im asking cause i think nyi might only because vanek is a ufa and its almost certain he wont be back and islanders are a market where alot of players dont wanna go there ( let the bashing begin)

i remember getting sh*t on by alot of people for saying he was overrated when we signed him, i also didnt like the alfredsson signing just because the cap number was 5.5 for a 40 yr old player , i can live with the alfredsson signing cause its 1 year but even if we gave him say 4 million instead we'd have flexibility and be able to call up ahl players ah well also cause the cap number is going up 7 million i just hope holland doesnt feel like he has to go out just sign any joblo , like i said last summer rather keep the money till the right moment arrives ( a real star is available although it rarely happens now ) or let the kids play and keep money for the future raises (nyquist , tatar etc.. )

well vanek in ny has been a disaster , they have only 2 wins with him in the lineup since the trade so not exactly been doing great there either ... and we can still use the excuse "maybe a change of scenery would do weiss good" ?? + like i said islanders cant attract free agents and weiss is locked up longterm thats the only reason why i suggested it , id maybe throw in someone like ferraro but no way im throwing in a 1st, cant see islanders getting 2 1sts for vanek at the deadline

i think a team who has trouble attracting free agents would take a chance ... nashville/islanders/columbus type teams and before people say it yes hes got a no trade( dont know why holland gives them out like candy) but if he keeps playing on the 4th line and its clear its not working here why would he want to stay agree helm should center 3rd and andersson 4th or the wing depending on sheahan ... thats a thing how is sheahan not on the roster , ferraro?? no chance for callahan? thats why i didnt like the drew miller contract ... why a 3 year deal? and bertuzzi back??? no thanks man , like tootoo but he wont be back
